proof from your uni that you are in full time education.

Not sure if they still exist, I had a 'friend' who had a non dated student card and all he did was apply on internet with no proof of student ID then show the card at the gate if he was asked, looked this time tho at the info and it looks like they've only got under 21 tickets. Probably to stop people doing scams. If you find anything out tho I'll dig out the card, I only ever showed proof on match days...I mean he only ever showed proof on match days...

They have replaced them with, Younger Persons, season tickets. All you need to qualify for one of these is to be 16-21, no matter whether your in full time education or not.

Hang on, so does that mean that students over 21 are going to be screwed over.

It looks like it yes.

or maybe they are getting a wake up call that it is time they starting washing and paying their way in life ?

or maybe becuase of the number of people abusing the system they have had to change it.

you should be in full time employment by the time you are 21, not lazing around at Polytechnic or Uni

absof?ckinglutely! No job, no S/T.

Having a S/T is surely a luxury nowadays, like holidays & fancy cars. And so if one can't afford one.....erm tough!

my cousin has had a 'student' S/T for as long as i remember and hes pushing 40 ffs

i on the otherhand am a pup and been paying full price for years

whos the mug me for paying full whack or BWFC for letting people get away with 'student' tickets for years

Hold on on a minute! I'm off back to Uni in September and I'm a touch over 31 never mind 21!

I finished uni last year at 21 and paid student prices. However, some people can only afford to do certain courses at university later in life and this often means their income isn't high meaning they are entitled to cheaper prices IMO

right if someone chooses to go to uni later in life and better themselves that is very admirable (that is sincere not sarcastic) but why the hell should they expect to have the life they have chosen paid for by a business like bolton ?

how about those on 4 year courses or PGCE/Masters type qualifications.

even if they went straight in to uni at 18 they're 22 this season!

Or have i just bitten big style?

means tested football is the future

as fert student, football is a tenner a week

cut out the ale n pot noodles, job sorted

means tested football is the future

Why should I have to pay more than the person next to me to vice versa due to one of us earning more than the other? It's the same view, same game & same queues for ale at half time.

You sound like a bitter old woman :good:

I couldn't give a toss how much other people pay, personally.

the person (s) next to you should get reduced prices..........

if they are short of money they will have to miss out on going to football.

if they are study for PGCE to becoem teachers then they have alife time of summer holidays to make and secutiy of tenure to make up for it.

if they are doing a masters in anything useful they will earn a decent crust in the future and not expect to more for their ticket.

if masters is in something useless tough shit.

Student tickets give an advantage to the club, if they get students into football then they are more likely to be a ST holder when they have finished their degree because they expected to earn a higher wage than those without degrees.

16-21 years olds with a full-time job easily have a greater income than your average student. Also they probably live with their parents and don't have to pay full whack for bills (student don't pay council tax I know before someone points it out). I took a year out at 16 and know this is the case amongst most of them.

Anyway if i have to pay adult price then I won't be there next season (along with my mates who travel with me), I've not had a ST since I was 16 but still attend a lot of games home and away. This will lower attendences even further because if you are 16-21 with full time jobs who wanted to see bolton then you probably would have done already.

very fair points you make.

assume the club took this into account when making the desicion.

i daresay the number of people abusing the system have to its withdrawal as much as anything else.

I'm not even sure that they have replaced student tickets, I couldn't find any mention of it so I have emailed the ticket office.

But if it is down to people abusing the system then all they have to do is make the guys on the turnstiles ask for ID like they are supposed to.

Why should people with degrees who earn more pay a higher rate of income tax and pay more national insurance. Same shitty NHS, same traffic jams etc?

Why should Christiano Ronaldo pay more tax than a working single mother with 3 kids?

:)

I can't think of anything worse than sitting next to some unwashed layabout waffling on about Kafka, Descartes, Satre and various other gits whislt I'm trying to shout myself hoarse at a failed footballer from Tring ruining my afternoon.

And aren't 'proper' students supposed to be bunking down miles away and therefore unable to get back to Bolton every week for the match?

the person (s) next to you should get reduced prices..........

that made me laugh
