Smiley Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 average on Saturday. heart didn't look in it. thought he should have done better with first. could have saved the third. and maybe should have got closer to Martins for the 2nd. I noticed that he showed respect towards the travelling Geordies at the end of the game, but didn't bother with the ESL. He's on his way
HomerJay Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 aye, also noticed that anelka winked at martins when he scored and he definatly tried to put his shot wide when he scored. He's on his way.
Gumbo Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 My dad was eating a black and white sweet before the game He's Going
no balls Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 My dad was eating a black and white sweet before the game He's Going Does that not mean he's off to Everton though?
Gumbo Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 No it was a black and white hum bug, he wsnt eating utter bollocks or an Everton Mint and... if players leave they leave. No room for loyalty in the game anymore
Doctor Tongue Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Nicky Hunt had a decent game - nobody one wanderersways slating him for a change... He's on his way. Jussi at fault for goals 1 and 3 - sorry folks the truth hurts, time for a change I think.

I think we could do with a change meself....
YATESY Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 For me Jussi has not been at his best for some time now. He ended last season with some below par performances and Saturday was a continuation. As I posted in another thread, I think we have missed the boat on this. Jussi is asking for more money than we are prepared to pay him. I doubt his demands will change and I doubt our offer will get anywhere near what he wants. IMO we should have cashed him a month back and got a replacement bedded in over pre-season, as we will need to find a replacement in January / next summer anyway.

Doctor Tongue Senior had the boy hung drawn and quartered straight after the first went in. His rant after the 3rd went in would have done you proud. Probably more vocieferous than any spider rant that I've seen. To be fair, he has been predicting the decline of Jussi for the last 3 years and it looks like this may be the year it comes true. Get Al Habsi in - thats what I say - surely a run out soon before he goes to that Afraican cup thing

Mike Hunt Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 you know, I have read some shite on here First goal - a crossed free kick should be dealt with by the centre backs. It was a quality ball into the box (typically Allardyce) that is difficult to defend. Second goal - the only way any goalkeeper in the world is getting near an overhead kick from 6 yards at that pace is if it hits him squarely in the face Third goal - I agree, he seemed to go a ground a bit quick For me, he is one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the Prem Notice the usual 'can't kick' moans are not about!

Time for a change its the first bloody game on the season So does that mean based on the first half performance the starting 11 are on their way utter shite IMO
Gonk Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Get Al Habsi in - thats what I say - surely a run out soon before he goes to that Afraican cup thing Why? Neither Jussi or Al Habsi will be there
YATESY Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Jussi is on his way - either January or next summer. He has not been on top of his game for some time now BUT I think he is still a better bet than Al Habsi. IMO we will need to recruit to bring in a replacement for Jussi (unless the ginger mop turns out to be a good one!!)
enzo gambaro Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I have read some shite on here This is just about the only worthwhile post in this entire thread.
Ani Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 if i was jussi and read what the fans thought of me on sites like this i too would fcuk off. he should have better for the first goal. others were nt his fault. on another thread people are crying that faye maybe going. first goal as a centre half should have been further up the pitch. second goal where was he ? third goal was nt close enough to his man who turned and then faye deflected the ball in. should nt we replace him as well ?
enzo gambaro Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 The Times has him on Eriksson's "wanted" list. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle2253628.ece
Doctor Tongue Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 The Times has him on Eriksson's "wanted" list. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle2253628.ece Honestly - I would let him go. As I have said before, he is a fantastic shop-stoper - does he inspire me or fill me with confidence - does he fcuk. Not fit to lace Branagan's boots IMO. The first goal - no matter how you look at it was his fault - guilty of not commanding his box. Someone like Schmiecal (and I know he was a Utd player - but as a keeper he was outstanding), would have knocked people out to get to that ball. Dont get me wrong, if Jussi would come out for crosses and kick properly he would be a top keeper. Commanding your area is more important than saving the odd penalty. Wish people would back Nicky Hunt up like they do Jussi.

Sweep Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Someone like Schmiecal (and I know he was a Utd player - but as a keeper he was outstanding), would have knocked people out to get to that ball. True, but then (like him or loathe him) that is why Peter Schmeichel is the greatest goalkeeper the Premier League has ever seen, and why it took Man Utd years and years to come close to replacing him.
enzo gambaro Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Dont get me wrong You're managing that all by yourself.
Doctor Tongue Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 You're managing that all by yourself. Am slightly confused now. What are you infering I'm wrong about. If wrong is having a slightly different opinion than you, then I guess I'm wrong - and I bow to your obvious superior reasoning. And whilst Im watching a game - regardless of how much I think that Jussi is overated, I will never admonish or slag him off in public. Unlike some people .........with other players.................
