Jiminiho.3 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Seeing as I don't think he's injured, can't believe he isn't even in any of our first 3 squads. Can't see how Alonso started and he wasn't even on the bench. The guy's been great for us more often than not. Maybe Lee just isn't a fan, if so it's a shame, reckon the team's worse without Ivan
no balls Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Agreed. Campo looks leaner than he has for a good while. We need someone who's bloody good just behind midfield. And, hey presto, Campo's good at that. I'm not sure why he's not in, but that is one of my criticisms of Lee's tactics.
trotter58 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 You've got to remember that Sammy Lee has been observing these players for a while and he obviously doesn't feel that some of them are up to it anymore. Whether he's right or not, time will tell.

He did it brilliantly in the same game last year when we won 1-0. So he must have gone back a mile since.

If you have to go back that far to find a decent performance from him, then that might explain why he's not in the team!
Mounts Kipper Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 campo can only justify a place in the team if we play 1 in front of the back 4 as lee does not fancy that formation he will not get a game, I think Lee has to look at going back to 4/5/1 4/3/3 because it still suits our personel and we would be much more solid and you could still play 2 wingers.
Casino Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 you could play 4 midfielders with wingers, but you'd need two disciplined midfielders speed, mccann, faye, campo could fit the bill
Dexter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Spot on MK. 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 is the only way we'll get results and thats sinply coz we'll av 3 in the centre of the park. I am Campo's no.1 fan and he would start most games for me. Simply because he can pass, tackle, and head the f*ckin thing. Campo is not in the sqaud because he told LSL he thought his new training regime was shite Its all fitness based which I am all for but Campo did not approve.

A friend of mine saw him in a pre season match - against Espanyol I think - and said he was superb, especially his long passing. I thought Lee wanted to play a passing game, so why is he leaving out the best passer of the ball we've got?
Rembrandt Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I'm baffled by LSL's team selections so far. Maybe it'll all come right.
