  1. I think you will find we are 3 points above relegation, with three very loseable matches to come. However, I still think we will be safe at the end. WBA, Stoke and Portsmouth are going down.
  2. No. I would explain why but Arnold has put it very well so I'll just leave it at that. Elmander has had a fair crack of the whip, time Smolarek and Riga were given more of a chance.
  3. If it is so ridiculous to compare them why did we pay roughly the same amount for them?
  4. Hang on. If this criticism is affecting the players how come we've won the last two games? Maybe it's having a positve effect. Perhaps we should up the ante. I suggest for the rest of the season we gradually erect a scaffold and by the time we lynch him in May we should be in the Champions League! Just a thought.
  5. Jussi may not have said that he wants to leave but he has been stalling over his contract for 18 months now, which is a pretty clear indication.
  6. How about Aidy Boothroyd? Phil Brown? Steve Coppell? Tony Mowbray? Martin Jol? Oh. and I think Sven may be available soon!
  7. I can definitely seethem beating Pompey on the last day of the season. Portsmouth are in the cup final the following week, do you think they will be trying that hard against Fulham?
  8. Did nobody else notice that we beat Madrid 1-0 because Campo ( and Nolan) controlled the midfield? McCann is the one to play in that position when we are in the Championship. While we are in the top flight then Campo is your man. Remember how shite we were when Sammy Lee wasn't picking him?
  9. I think the main differences were 1) their goalkeeper made 3 or 4 crucial saves and 2) they have strikers and midfielders who take their chances. None of our players look confident in front of goal. Taylor couldn't hit the proverbial barn door at the moment. But, apart from Stelios maybe, we have no one in reserve who has ever been a consistent goal scorer.
  10. Wasn't it his flick on that Diouf scored from against Madrid? Personally, I thought davies and O'Brien were our best players yesterday. As for suggesting that Rasiak is more mobile than Davies..... I'm speechless.
  11. 0-0. Sounds like we've been a bit lucky so far, though.
  12. It's on radio, if that's any good. 5live and no Alan Green!
  13. They created 16 between them on Saturday. That should be enough.
  14. I shall be going with my good lady (+ son and brother-in-law) and we shall be going to a Thai restaurant prior to the match. Not because it's Valentines day, thats just our routine on an evening match. Good food, good football and the love of a good woman. What more could a man want?
  15. Who are the three they replaced? Anelka and Wilhelmson, I suppose, but who is the third?
  16. I agree his long passing was not up to standard for some of the match, but there is a lot more to his game than that. His chipped pass for Rasiak was superb. Anyone who thinks McCann is a replacement is out of their mind!
  17. They may be black, but I wouldn't call Defoe or Diarra big.
  18. Excuse my ignorance, but why has he not played? Injured or did 'Arry not rate him?
  19. This guy, Pilling, somehow gets his miserable pessimistic views printed in the Observer every other week. Can't we get someone off here to volunteer? I'm sure Traf's post match comments would be far more entertaining!
  20. I'm with you on this, Taylor looks lightweight to me. OK, he runs around a lot and tries damn hard but so did Pederson for Christ's sake! There's no end product and he loses the ball too easily. As for scoring a screamer in the next few weeks, you can give me half a dozen tap ins for one screamer any day.
  21. Why don't people get off Campo's back? Campo,Nolan and Guthrie were excellent in midfield yesterday, broke up all of Portsmouths build up in the middle, and most of the chances we created started from those three. OK, Campo fell apart a bit in the last 15 minutes, but that is no reason to scapegoat him for the entire defeat. Christ, it's not long since people were saying how much better we are with him back in the team protecting the defence, and last week he was man of the match in some papers when we beat Reading. What is it with Bolton fans that they always need a scapegoat? I guess with Hunt out of the team and Nolan playing well Campo must be the next in line.
  22. Best we can do now is 13th now Reading have won.
  23. Must take issue with supermegs saying Davies can't tackle. He's a fecking superb tackler, as I am sure Giggs and Evra would testify!
