bolty58 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Defeats ....the figures don't lie ..at least our contract man bagged another ... the only bright spot on a bleak horizon ! Keep the faith. Great game, tremendous performance, unlucky to lose. Cid to blame for first goal and probably Alonso for the second. Nobody will convince me we were anything but unlucky to lose that game. It'll be reet.

Nobody will convince me we were anything but unlucky to lose that game. It'll be reet. Not sure what's worse. Playing badly and losing, or playing well and losing. Credit to Sammy Lee for holding his nerve and trying to keep a settled team but if we keep conceeding goals at this rate, we're in big trouble. Three points from five games is relegation form.
Rembrandt Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 We need to be solid in defence in order to launch the great attackers we have, and legs in midfield to get forward & back at pace. LSL has got the attacking part right, but ..... we don't seem to believe in having defenders & cover (neither of the right-back & centre-back signings were done), and Speed/Nolan/McCann together in midfield aren't the answer (Campo might not be pacy but he can hold & pass the ball). Could be a rough autumn.
trotter58 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Birmingham away next and we cannot afford to lose that one.

frank_spencer Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 And ours? Nolan, Davies header. 3-3 fair score ! Alonso rattling the bar and drawing a fantastic save from Timmy F?cksticks Howard
HomerJay Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Alonso rattling the bar and drawing a fantastic save from Timmy F?cksticks Howard penalty decision
Casino Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 diouf volleying over first half was a bad miss after he'd done the hard bit face it, attacking we're not so shabby, defensively, and its not just the back 5, we're a shambles
athywhite Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 And ours? Nolan, Davies header. 3-3 fair score ! yes we have created chances and scored goals every game thats not a problem, but the defending is.
jayjayoghani Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 A decent defence (or defensive shape) would have got us a point at least which would have been far from a disaster. We'd be 16th not 19th for a start. And Everton are a decent team. Think a win at Birmingham is essential.

I would take a point at Birmingham, but saying that I would always take a point away from home

trotter58 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I would take a point at Birmingham, but saying that I would always take a point away from home Normally i would agree with that but we've lost far too much ground in the last few games and i really think that we need all three points at Birmingham.
