Is This Necessary?

Featured Replies

I was browsing your forum and in some of the topics I found some things written about Macedonia and Macedonians using words like gypsies, shithole and some other offenses.

Is this all necessary?

English fans were hosted in Macedonia with no problems and I'm sure that all Bolton fans that will come in Macedonia (and I read that there will be many) will be more then welcomed. So why do you have to write such things about Macedonia and the Macedonians?

You are correct my friend.

I think some comments are meant as nothing more than a joke, some due to ignorance and some for pure offence.

The majority of our fans will hope to be welcomed by Macedonians and will in turn welcome you to Bolton.

You will soon discover that this forum's members ridicule each other continuously - no-one is immune to abuse.

Its 99% tongue-in-cheek.

Stick with us, we're not a bad bunch.

Don't take offence, I think people were confusing you with Bulgaria.

Or Tonge Moor.

Macclesfield/Macedonia. Easily confused.

Anyroad, Jumbo Milton Keynes Don, the upshot is this: we take the piss put of everyone, not just you.

So, don't get your Robot knickers in a twist. (See what I did there?)

This is all true Jumbo - you've helped out on here and so make yerself known on the day and I doubt you'll have to buy a drink all neet

Jumbo - if you check back, you'll see folk on here say far worse things about our beloved Bolton. It's an English thing. Don't take offence and, as Satan and others have suggested, you and Alex will be on free drinks if you make yourself known.

anyone know the gypo for sarcasm? i have to admit his english is better than most who post on here regularly...

I think this stems from our trip to Bulgaria, apologies.

You will probably find that people using terms like "gypsies" have no intentions of travelling, they've probably only ever been to Benidorm where they can buy English food with English money.

HOWEVER....... it would be interesting to know how the English are viewed in Macedonia?

Do the Macedonian's have any slang names for the English?

Over to you Jumbo & Alex....

What's ironic is that the person used the word "gypsys" whereas our Macedonian friend spelt it correctly.

I've removed the offensive thread and will be issuing a warning for racism.

There's no slang name for the English here.

I will not lie to you and I will admit that most of the Macedonians see the English fans as hooligans and that's understandable knowing the bad reputation. But as I said, you'll have no problems if don't insult, break bottles, offend...

Also I wouldn't be surprised if there are some insults from the Macedonian side, but with the experience from the both England matches I can say that there will be no big incidents.

Maybe you will be good enough to spread rumours that we are lovers not fighters - and we are coming TO Macedonia in peace - with the intent to drink, sing, laugh, smile and serenade your beautiful (unmarried) women!!!!!!! Oh, and eat your big burgers!!!!!

Didn't Artim Sakiri once threaten to kill David Beckham?

That would probably make Sakiri popular in England though.

jumbo, the term you need to use for several underage, undenyingly stupid, irretrievably homosexual, and generally annoying men is a set of oli's. this is also used to ridicule folk... if you could tell Skopje faithful, it would be greatly appreciated :good:

Jumbo/Alex - I hope our players won't receive this kind of abuse. Do you think it's possible?

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson praised his captain for not rising to the provocation, while Beckham also spoke of the racist chanting aimed at England substitute Emile Heskey.

"It has been cut out of the game for years but it has started to creep back in some countries," said Beckham.

"We were well aware before the game because it happened at the Under-21 match.

"Our players are well aware and well above that."

I see Beckham as a spoiled kid. It's normal that players insult between them during a match, but I'm sure Sakiri didn't say something like that. Beckham is over reacting.

You will not hear racist abuse by the fans of Rabotnicki (who are very peaceful and in small number), because there are 2 black players in their squad

About that U21 match... The match was played on the "Cair" stadium in the Cair area, where mostly Albanians live. Because of their reactions that was the last international match organized on that ground

Fair enough. The English media are quick to jump on things like this. It would be reported if it did happen.

It was common to hear racism in English stadiums 20 years ago

CANT BELEIVE I,VE NOT YET SEEN THE QUESTION ' HOW MUCH ARE THE LADIES ' ? OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT .

Rabotnicki fans wont make stupid reaction, Im sure of that. their name "Romanticari" in english means "Romance Lovers" (they r no gays ;)) so they r peaceful lads that love their team and dont really bother with the opponent.

but everywhere there r some bunch of idiots that spoil everything so I wont be surprised if some of the normal crowd make some stupid reactions.

few years ago when Hamburger played here, their player Mpenza had some troubles with the fans, all the time they were askin for him to come to them and give them his shirt. :D

its like a tradition here the crowd to pick some player from the opponent team and make fun of him for whole game. I remember besides Emile Mpenza that happened to Ovchivnikov (Loko Moscow), Berbatov (Bulgaria)...

its the same at bolton

nicky hunts usually the one chosen
