That's the best you can come up with?!

Right, we'll accept then that you've admitted to being in the wrong. Now let's move on to your next point. Which 'proven goal scorer' have you in mind if Anelka is sold? Who would you be happy with? Any realistic targets in mind?

Fat Sam spent most of his time here searching for that elusive goal scorer he finally got it in Anelka but 'proven goal scorers' will always be wanted by the top clubs. supposedly Juve want Benjani now he's scoring regularly. There's not that many about.

i'd have been ok with signing collins john a season or 2 a go but i think he's got an attitude problem now and that'll be hard to shift!

If Annelka is sold in January, we need at this stage of the season to re-place him with a proven goal scorer.

fook me, it took us 5 years to find our first one

Looks like we've found a beltin replacement if he goes

Not realistic. It will hinder his England chances if he comes to us.

have it on good authority, he is going to city.

Players with 'attitude problems' are our speciality. sign him up! :good:

All this talk about City, I have it on good authority that Thaksin will be deported back to Thailand if his party don't win the Thai elections on 23rd December, which is highly unlikely. Even if he is not deported, he will fail the fit and proper persons test.

oh please god let that happen the blue nose city tossers are beginning to to seriously get up my nose.

I know its only paper talk, but i can't see Colins John doing much!!

We don't need players like that we need quality. Wigan are about to spend ?15 million - we need to spend more, otherwise it could be the end of our beloved club.

A tad over dramatic that matey. It was never going to be 'the end of our beloved club' when we were facing the likes of Aldershot; Trotters Revival; Panoramagate etc. What we face today is lightweight by comparison to some of the lows we've experienced before. Get a grip.

If spending is the solution to everything, how do you explain the predicament of Leeds United?

It's always going to be good business to off-load Anelka at the right price. We all new he was never going to be Bosman material. I've no doubt that the 'new' contract was merely a smoke screen to increase his transfer value.

Don't get me wrong, I think Anelka is f?cking amazing and I very much doubt we will see any home player grace the pitch for Bolton in a long time. I feel we have become slightly one-dimensional this year and overly dependent on him (sort of in the way Arsenal became dependent on Henry when they perhaps didn't need to - ok not comparing like with like, but you get my drift).

 So we ARE just sending the shirts out against the munichs on Saturday???

With the club debt now up to ?43 million , I can't see any transfer fee we might get for Anelka (or anybody else for that matter ) being re-invested in new players.

Yeah, but the point is the word "re-invest". It's investing in our future - if we sell Anelka and let's just say the goals dry up and we get relegated, it will cost us more than it would have done to spend money on players to keep us up as long as we're not talking daft money.

However, we may be at the mercy of the banks anyway?

I think it was Yatesy who was telling us that the debt's in hand andf it's not as bleak as it sounds. I think we should declare ourselves bankrupt, go into administration and suffer the 15 points deduction now. At least it's overwith.

My point about our beloved club being finished maybe a little over dramatic I grant you. But when we were in the fourth division there wasn't that much of a threat from Wigan. I think there is now. If they stay up and stay in the prem for a long time we go down and stay below them for a long time then I'm afraid they will eventually pull in more fans than Bolton. That will then mean less coverage and the young kids drifting to Wigan. The threat should not be underestimated, either by the club and it's directors or by the fans.

Garty and co will just see the money and not think about owt else. So they'll have relegated us, lost most of our fans and let the debt go up after being so good with it for the past 5 years. Well done Phil Gartside :::::lol:::::

And in that list - 17 Walters. Ipswich Town, the one that got away?!

Drawing a long bow again there mate. I have found tradition goes a long way in football. As founder members of the league, Bolton will always be a football town. Wigan will always be an RL town.

I repeat that I do not believe BWFC will be relegated. We are a superior team to 6 or 7 others in the EPL and will prove it by the end of the season. I don't even believe it will be a close run thing.

I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried.
