Is it any wonder why we cannot fill the Reebok Stadium with performances like that?

 

The tactics are awful, the players are all over the place and in that I mean disorganised. Playing 5 across the middle of the park in a home game against a team that hasn't won away from home in donkey's is outragous.

 

Where there any positives from the game? Only one our only striker got his first outing for months.

 

Things will not get any better with some very tough games coming up in March and 3 away games out of 4 in April the situation is only going to get worse.

 

It wouldn't be so bad if the play was entertaining, at least I would feel happier at watching a class player putting the opposition on his arse (Okocha) but who in that team can go past someone we ease, make them look daft and open up a defence with one acurate pass?

 

The 'pay on the day' type fan will not turn up and it will just be season ticket holders sat in a half empty stadium.

 

On last nights showing (Fulham) I for one will not be renewing my season ticket for next season.

 

Yes I'm brassed off, but what can you expect from a team going no where with little entertainment value.

Having home games and Valentines day and Mothers day is not going to

help either.

 

If we play like we did last night against Arsenal or Athltico they will be long nights !!

 

The only positive note is that we have home games against Arsenal, Liverpool

City and Sunderland which will guarantee big away followings and

It's amazing really. I watched us loose against shef u in the cup and thought, 'well the performances cant get worse' and after last night they did.

Not a lot to argue with there. We never took the game to Fulham, but we don't play the system that allows attacking play, perhaps more to the point - we haven't got the players to effectively break teams down. At the moment we have no "special" players capable of opening defences with either pace, a killer pass, or the ability to beat a man.

Raising the game just because of the opposition doesn't count for me. The quality of play is very poor.

 

Do United and Arsenal raise their game every week, week in week out?

 

It's more than that, we need entertaining. I understand that the points are precious at this stage of the season but I want to see something that can put a smile on my miserable face.

You should have learnt by now that football is almost totally irrelevant in the European trips. A half decent game and result is the icing on the cake - nothing more.

Last night smacked of what life will be like in the Championship.

 

Poor crowd, no diouf, poor football.

Its going to take one hell of an effort to make sure that doesn't happen.

I think we are better than Sunderland, Birmingham etc, but at least they would have had a go at Fulham at home and not just tried to keep it tight and sneak one. If we can't beat Fulham at home who can we beat?

Well Mr Gartside, in the last 3 home games we have not been.

No attacking nouse at all. 10 men behind the ball every time Fulham got the ball.

No-one left up at corners.

The problem with football now in the Premier League is that there is so much money that teams are too worried about losing. The quality of football from us, Derby, Middlesborough, Brum, Sunderland, Wigan etc (in fact anyone except Scum, Arsenal Chelsea and Tottenham (?) is shocking.

 

I would rather we had a 2-3-5 formation like th'olden days and sod the result at the moment.

 

Considering the first 11 were paid 1/4 million between them for that performance last night was amazing.

At least 5 or 6 years ago when we were at the bottom of the prem there was a degree of excitement at the games. Maybe it was because it was the excitement of being promoted.

No goalscorer. No pace up front to force mistakes. Davies not winning many headers on his won against a big defender, and no-one to pick up his few flicks or 2nd ball. No wingers to cross the ball. No creativiry nor pace in the midfield trio. What little pace/creativity we have banished to the wide positions. 10 men behind the ball whenever possible.

I was just flat last night after the match. 0-0 wasn't unexpected, let's face it. This morning it's like a bad hangover of depression & pessimism. Too many new players needed in too short a time. It should all have been addressed over the last 2 years, position by position. If you don't go forward as a team or a business, you drift backward. And we're well in the clutches of a strong tide now.

We looked like a team of journeymen last night, with no-one able to supply a 'killer' pass, and no-one to get on the end of it.

 

I remember thinking at the Wigan match, I wouldn't really want any of their players, with the possible exception of Koumas. Other supporters watching us last night wouldn't have wanted any of our players

Doubt that any of us would give a flying feck - we'd be there anyway. I wouldn't mind a wager that we won't have a 3-4 goal deficit to take to Madrid. Nobody thought we could get a result in Munich. Few thought we would in Belgrade. No surrender.

The general mutter around last night was "I ain't renewing next season" and "if I hadn't paid for the rest of the season, I'd give up now". I only pay ?12.50 for my tickets these days, it ain't worth that much. I'm hardly surprise there is no casual support given it's so damned expensive and still so difficult to obtain tickets at the last minute. Crowd will continue to drop if the status quo remains.

 

This weekend I watched 3 games from Portugal, the FA Cup ties on BBC, some of Atletico v Barca, some of an Italian game on 5ive and Torquay v Histon on Santana. I can categorically state that our game was the worst of the lot. Of all the teams I saw, only Histon were worse, Torquay would have given us a game.

It was p?ssing it down, I'd been a busy bee at work and by the time I got home, I had a look at the ST on the side and thought 'f?ck it'. It was obvious that a midweek game, at the Reebok (surely the worst excuse for a ground in the country) and against Fulham, was going to be a stale & dull game.

 

I'm soooooooooooo glad I didn't bother

 

As for the ST - well the old man has already said he's not bothering getting another one EVER again & I'm now 50/50. It's sh?t value fo money, the games up there are f?cking abysmal and travelling up to sh?tty little Horwich every game does my head in.

Last few home games brum, derby, bburn and fulham been shiite. yes we won against brum and wigan but we were awful.

Why play our best midfielder danny guthrie wide on the right? we had nolan o brein and mccann last night all doing the same job. At least when cohen came on he went hiding barring tripping his man up so nolan and mccann had more room.

 

Dont get what megson sees me taking guthrie off?! Fair enough he gave the ball away a few times but at least the lad tried to do something when he went off we never looked like we wanted to win.

 

We need a striker quick and heider hulguson better not be megsons answer.

 

I cant see it getting any better our remaining home games are all against top half opposition barring sunderland and we cant do feck all away from home.
