March 28, 200818 yr Must be the last person on earth to be on dial up. Need to get broadband pronto. Orange are offering a 18 month contract at ?12 per month with 6 months for ?6 per month total cost ?180. Anyone use Orange for there broadband any good/customer service etc ? I sadly can't get SKY broadband where I live.
March 28, 200818 yr My brother-in-law signed up, and is very pleased with it, he's not had any problems in the 6 months or so he's had it.
March 28, 200818 yr Been with them for 3 years or so - initially when I signed up it was Wanadoo and I had the mother of all nightmares. For the past couple of years it's been fine, I'm sure it's not as fast as it could/should be but had no over-riding issues. However, unless the customer service has changed dramatically, it's a major pain when you do have a problem
March 28, 200818 yr Been with them for 12 months or so now. Touching wood, for the past 4 months the service has been 100% reliable with connection instantly anywhere in the house using their Livebox Wi-Fi hub. Prior to four months ago the service was very hit and miss. Basically their offers had been too popular and their systems could not cope with all the new users. As Jules mentioned, the Customer Service was pretty poor - ages to get through, pot luck if you got a UK or Indian call centre, pot luck if the person was just reading a crip sheet or actually had some knowledge etc etc. I believe they now have the hardware in place to cope with demand. IMO they are no better or worse than the others out there. Reasonably priced and for me they don't deserve their low ranking they get in most of the polls and surveys.

March 31, 200818 yr Are you sure you can't get Sky?I get it, and I'm only about 5 miles from you. they say they only have limited numbers available so threaten to move your telly away as well an one will appear as if by magic
April 1, 200818 yr Author Are you sure you can't get Sky?I get it, and I'm only about 5 miles from you. Yep tried at least 3 times and they say the only broadband available is the ?17.99 package. Don't know anyone in Todmorden that has Sky broadband. If I could have had it bud,I would have had it as one whole package as can't be bothered with dealing with 3 seperate companies. Now signed up for Orange broadband and works out at a tenner a month over the 18 month contract. Time will tell whether I have any problems with them.
May 1, 200818 yr Author Got my router through for my broadband. Set it up,put the disc in and asks for my security code wpa (sticker on bottom of router.) Put it in and says incorrect number. Tried it 3 times so can only assume they have put wrong sticker on the router. Did it manually and laptop has found orange router and full bars with signal excellent. Also connected my wireless adaptor as well which seems to be working OK. It then asks me to put a number code in toolbar press go and internet should connect as online but doesn't and brings up dial up connect box. Am i right in saying that I have to disable/delete dial up box.Is this preventing the broadband connecting. Also is there a way of finding correct security code for router. Rang Orange (india) and they say they can't help and to call technical line at 50p per minute I will do this as last resort due to costs. Any help would be appreciated as getting really frustrated.
May 1, 200818 yr Pretty sure you need to change this:- Internet Properties > Connections > Select "Never dial a connection"
