Greyhound racing to return to Bolton?

THE glory days of greyhound racing could soon be back in Bolton.

A group of enthusiasts will meet next week to launch a fresh bid to revive the sport in the area.

They will debate a number of potential sites for a new racing track with the input of experts from Belle Vue Speedway.

 

Among the sites that will be up for discussion is land in the Middlebrook area.

 

The meeting marks the latest bid to re-introduce the sport to Bolton following the closure of the Raikes Lane

Brilliant idea, hope they sort it out.

In the last few months I've been to Belle Vue dog track on two seperate occasions and have to say that it's a cracking night out.

 

We booked the restaurant package for both times. It was ?22 per person and for that you got entrance, a racecard, 3 course meal and some vouchers for future use.

 

Each table receives waiter/ress service and also someone who takes your bets.

 

The only time you have to leave your seat is to p?ss, sh?t or smoke..... Oh, and cheer your winners on!

Great idea. 5 of us bought one from ireland a couple of years ago and had 2 fantastic years of nights out at belle vue. ?200 each to buy then ?4 a week to kennel - CLASS

would do it again for deffo with anyone off here who fancies it,cant get ripped off once the money is in and to stand on winners podium twice holding me dog was ace. We stabled it at June Mccombes and carole evans's if anyone has heard of them............
