Went 67/68 season, both fans shared the Kop, plenty of banter, one or two scuffles, scarves getting pinched, loads of Bolton fans singing, saw a lot of graffeti painted on the walls of the ground. But not quite old enough to get a pint. I would soon make up a few years later, at our seaside neighbours.

In those days it was the away fixture everyone looked for first when the lists came out. Some great and scary days out against the seasiders. It was our equivilent of a European fixture back in the good old days.

I could write a book about the experiences but it was all overshadowed by the murder of the Blackpool lad.

I hope it will be many years before we play them again. :angry

I remember the Boxing Day game when we drew 1-1. I think it was one of Phil Neal's first games for us and he was shite! I think David Cross scored for us and Paul Stewart equalised for them... and it was freezing!

WRONG! the end was fookin empty, bolton end down one side. police let us stay in though.

My memories of Blackpool is the obvious, a 0-0 draw and Nicholson rattled the bar with a thunderbolt (I can see the bar shaking now), Boxing Day game and some guy in a Gorrilla suit having a pissss ( I think we won)...

We've always had a sizeable following for the big games. The UEFA Cup games this year are proof of that. Apparently we hold the record for the largest travelling support for an English team at Le Stade Velodrome (Marseille)

I could spend all day recounting my memories of Blackpool away but there is no doubt the matches in the sixties were the best. I remember Charlie Cooper having a blinder and the nickname and chant 'Super Cooper' lasted years. The kop used to have a roof on it in those days and with, maybe 3000 plus Bolton fans stood next to a similar number of tangerines only seperated by a line of bobbies created a superb atmosphere.

The downside was having to keep one eye on the various objects being thrown between the two sets of fans. Great days!

Mine was for the 89 Freight Rover game when many of us were going through a pitch invading stage.

I remember a copper on his horse trying to move us on & smethie woud,nt walk so the copper leaned down & had hold of the scruff of his neck whilst still on the horse, the horse was froffin at the mouth & by the time the copper tossed Smethie to 1 side he had all this froth in his ear & down his face
