West Ham boss Alan Curbishley:"We came here with a patched up side and then lost Anton Ferdinand through injury in the first five minutes. "Bolton have played to their strengths and we found that difficult especially in the first 45 minutes. "The Reebok Stadium is a very difficult place to come to. "I do not think we got a lot of protection from the referee and I am disappointed with a few things that went on." I bet he thought campo passed to a bolton player as well................

April 12, 200818 yr ref had it in for davies all day. campo was shite. samuel played exceptionally well, long may it continue. Samuel saved all his football for one match! Campo did improve (albeit from the lowest of low bases)
April 12, 200818 yr Samuel saved all his football for one match! Campo did improve (albeit from the lowest of low bases) I thought mccann had a decent game, did a very good job in the middle of the park IMO... Nolans influence also showed...
April 12, 200818 yr Samuel was my MOM Decent going forward and made some great tackles (especially the one in the second half that went out for a corner) Campo was shite and should have been subbed. Gave the ball away and fired two shots over the bar. I suppose he did wave his arms around a lot though Thought our fans (those who turned up) were top, especially in the second half when we were under the cosh
April 12, 200818 yr Samuel could (maybe I`m not sure) have made up for the absolute tosh he played in Lisbon. Good game today from him
April 12, 200818 yr Samuels only problem is that he tends to leave his man out wide and gets sucked into the middle a bit to often.
April 12, 200818 yr Author Samuels only problem is that he tends to leave his man out wide and gets sucked into the middle a bit to often. this seems to be a problem with how we play, even with ten back behind the ball and them having 3 or 4 back there was always space out wide. maybe because we are so desperate players are chasing the ball but whn play switches we get exposed.
April 12, 200818 yr samuel played exceptionally well, long may it continue. Samuel saved all his football for one match! JLS had a great game today. I agree he's been fairly crap up to now but today he showed he's up for the fight. Long may it continue.

April 12, 200818 yr JLS probably played his best game to date for us, but West Ham were absolute shite. If we hadn't of beaten that shite them we would deserve to go down. Nolan MOTM. Edited April 12, 200818 yr by Underpants

April 12, 200818 yr AOB had a good game against a much bigger forward line than normal. Ashton, Zamora and Cole were consistently beaten in the air by him.

It's a pre-written script that all visiting managers bring with 'em in case they lose.
April 13, 200818 yr Curbishley said "We got no protection from the Referee" protection from what exactly? A typical statement from a southern softie manager, who's just visited the Reebok - and come away with f?ck all. Edited April 13, 200818 yr by Burndens Bogs

April 13, 200818 yr Protection? Good old West Ham, who play nice football and only use English players. Bollox. Think they got enough protection last season in the Tevez/Mascherano affair. West Ham hit more long balls yesterday than we ever have, their only problem was their target man Ashton couldn't give a toss.
April 13, 200818 yr we were all wrong, just read notw and samuel got a 5.... and we played 442.... nobbers... with campo on the right wing! Edited April 13, 200818 yr by HomerJay

A typical statement from a southern softie manager, who's just visited the Reebok - and come away with f?ck all. I thought the opposite was true for the first 30 mins, davies was getting knocked about, so he asked the ref why it wasn't a foul, didn't get much of an answer so decided to give some back. Don't give it if you can't take it.
April 13, 200818 yr JLS was excellent yesterday. Be like having a new player if he can play like that in the next 4 games. Campo was absolute gash in the first half but in the 2nd half he was very good from a defensive viewpoint. There were some Yanks on a football tour sat in front of us and one turned around and said "Do you guys like Campo?"
April 13, 200818 yr Curbishley will be looking for excuses, because he's under pressure for getting us playing negative football - the stuff about the reebok and refs decisions are just smokescreens, for a large percentage of our fans who are pissed off with his increasingly negative football. I thought the atmosphere was decent, we would get nothing because of Curbishley's blinkered insistence on playing Ashton pretty much up front alone for long periods, and that you deserved the win.

There was a good chant; "You're shit and your'e staying up", which was most pleasing. (esp as we sent you down a few seasons ago)
