done more than any of your gaffers ever have. :good:

that aside, megson wont be leaving apparently, but pretty dramatic changes afoot?

Done nothing. Won nothing. Spent loads.

Perfect for Newcastle, but anyone normal would want better.

What has he won as manager? We're not talking about winning Division 2 here, either.

How many millions of pounds has he spent achieving all his success?

took us from near relegation to league 1 to 3rd in the prem in 2 years, then took us to the brink of the title.

left and went to fulham, took them up.

went to england, couldnt cut it, but at least he had the nuts to admit it.

went to city, took them up, breaking records.

not too bad realy, he's never failed at club level.

what have your recent past past managers done/won??

he did a better job for us than sam did for you lot, and you worshipped the bloke, thought he was gods gift.

when he took us from near relegation to league 1 and then 3rd in the prem in 2 years? about ?3m.

in total at the toon i'll take a stab at about ?55m in 4 or so years.

from where we came from to where we ended up, i wouldnt say that was too bad.

i know times have changed, but the dog gary neville spent around ?40m this summer alone at the unwashed and they were only safe with about 2 games to go, what keegan did for us has never been repeated since, and never will be again.

You really do sum up a Newcastle fan. It makes me laugh how everyone in the country laughs at you but your all to dillussional to see it, because your a 'massive' club.

i won;t continue this debate, its pointless.

how am i dillusional? i'm pointing out history, it was fact. if i was dillusional i would be saying something like he was going to take us to near the title again, which he most certainly wont.

nor do i feel, or say, that we are a 'massive club'.

cheers for putting words in my mouth though! =D>

keegan was part of leaving newcastle 80 million in debt, wasn't he?

not particulalry, when we floated and raised all the cash he left pretty soon after. in fact, im not even sure he made a purchsse after the floatation.

look at souness/freddy for your answer to that one.

he's probably as much a part of the debt as howard wilkinson was the demise of leeds.

If you prehaps read my post more carefully, you would see i was making a comment as a whole about Newcastle fans. However while your asking, you immediately presuming we want Keegan as our manager was pretty dillusional as most people round here think he's shite.

Hasn't Megson got sides promoted?

Didn't Colin Todd's promotion winning side break records?

Think we got to the league cup final too not long back. Though McClaren's probably more successful than any of our managers as he's won summat.

he did a better job for us than sam did for you lot, and you worshipped the bloke, thought he was gods gift.

Granted, Keegan did a great job, but that was back when money was not as much a factor.

Big Sam took a smaller club from the bottom half of the Championship, to a consistent top eight side (on four occasions), and in eight years spent less than ?20m in transfer fees, ?8m of that on Anelka in his final year.

He also brought in big names, a decade ago only us would've dreamt of along with European football twice, and a cup final.

Given the resources Sam had, and the way football has changed, he did just a good a job as Keegan, if not better.

which is why we were all amused when ashley brought him back...
