Ive just come back from a week in Portugal and I cant believe how much the prices have gone up

I was paying 3 quid a pint in a little crummy bar, food was expensive too, as well as all the other bits and bats that you buy whilst away, even if we got a good rate on the Euro its still expensive

Its the same now in Spain, France and Italy.

Gone are they days of getting a cheap bear in Europe!!

Some Dutch bloke who I was watching footy with said everything has trebbled in price in 7 yrs wereas wages have only gone up at the usual 3% per annum, since they binned the Guilder they have been shafted, Us brits have been shafted too, look at the price of Brasses in Amsterdam these days

in the next 3 years the likes of Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria and Latvia etc will be joining.

Indeed. The UK public debt levels have been lower than the Euro average ever since the idea was proposed. Of course, that's only because the entirity of the Euro zone breaks their own arbitrary rules. And why anyone would want to join the Euro is entirely beyond me. German monetary policy killing the European economy at every downturn; and we have an entirely different economy to continental Europe, so we'd be worst hit by assymetric shocks.

 

Whole thing is just EU hubris. God bless the Irish today, but the gary nevilles in Strasbourg won't listen.
