Well That Was A Waste....

apparently they've been queueing since before 7am for the new iPhones at O2 in town and up at Middlebrook. got myself down to the queue in town about 7.50am..... about 20 from the front...... apparently tho' there was about 8 people already from the queue inside. my inside info told me that there were only 30 units in stock. with 8 staff, and by my reckoning about 6 selling we were looking at a max 10-12 sales per hour. by 8.35 they'd sold 1. the system was playing up big time. i decided to kindly ask the staff if i was pissing in the wind. after some deliberation was told, aye!

i did my best by sending about 4-5 people round to carphone warehouse where the queue was tiny and they were giving people free coffee from Nero's..... i'd been 2nd from the front there, but only prob was they wouldn't sell me 2.

now my nose is streaming!

biggest seller since the iPod.

I don't understand people who queue up for things like that. What's wrong with waiting a few weeks until the fuss has died down? Is it something to do with showing off that you've got the latest gadget before anyone else?

And apparently the British public is skint.

they've one left in stock....... but I need 2!

you could say the same about cup final tickets...... always a mad rush and panic at first, but chances are, wait a few days and you get one anyway.

despite the latest gadget you will still have a small cock.

Bollox! That's not the same at all.

What's the odds on you losing the fcuker this weekend?

Now, if it's a competition, Smiley, I am surely more stuck up than thee and even I don't understand why you would want to stand in the rain and queue for a phone which is notoriously poor. I bought the new Samsung Tocco last week & didn't have to queue, it's beautiful and have an iTouch for my music anyway.

Tocco

2, is this for when you inevitably lose one of them?

We are getting either an Iphones or HTC Touch Diamond in Sept, not bothered which cause it won't cost me owt.

Congratualtions on queuing up for something that does exactly the same as the last one except a little bit faster and paying more for in the process! I dont understand it.

And on another note, as an iPod touch owner I just cannot see why anyone would want a phone that size! you should have waited for the SonyEricsson X1

Camera is 2megapixel and it still has no MMS (without 3rd party hack) or forward facing camera for video calls.

aye though as much that one NB bought looks pretty nifty and way better than the uber hype that is the iphone

It is indeed rather swish BUT a word of caution for all the gents. It's purely touch screen and so if you've got mons hons, I'd advise you not to purchase it.

If were talking about phones, surely everyone knows that Samsungs are a big plie of utter shite!!

People slag off the iPhone, and I don't rate it a great deal either. But if you're gonna carry a phone and an mp3 player around then the iPhone makes perfect sense. After all the iTouch is just a poor mans iPhone. Almost identical size without a lot of the features.

True but the main reason I have an iTouch and a seperate phone is that I dont want to be carrying round a phone that is that big. As an everyday type of phone its not practical for me.

How's that then when it costs well ?269 for the iTouch but the iPhone on 02 (a network I found to be rip off btw) is ?159? I'll stick to my apparently shite Samsung and my iTouch, thanks.

iPhone - style over substance

Windows Mobile phones do far more, although I must admit the iphone browser is better

Surely you understand that phones are discounted or even given away, as the mobile phone companies make the money on the monthly tariffs.

An iTouch is stripped down iPhone, hence the poor mans tag.

I do indeed, I was speaking in real terms i.e. money out of ones' pocket. I'm really not convinced the iPhone is a good idea though or I would've gone for one as I am the original Joe Punter.

And also O2 are a set of robbing c?ntshovellers. I have a new friend, Lisa at TMobile call centre, lovely girl! :D

Thats why so many people are hooked in to the iPhone deal as it appears cheap, yet the 12 months at ?35 are forgotten. But i too don't rate the iPhone (old version at least).

Surprised you rate T-mobile, as i think they are a shower of shite also...Didn''t we have a thread a while back about T-Mobile. Though none of them are a shining example of great service in my experience.

agree. and I bet you drive a Nova or Fiesta, as its not about status, more getting from A to B.

iPhone is free on certain tariffs. will cost us ?85 for 2. better than giving the money to the tax man.

the rain was rather refreshing thanks.

I don't understand why anyone would buy a Touch, full stop.

T-Mobile are dogwank. Official.

Though I admit the call centre staff up in Greenock are really nice. And a few know mates/family of mates up there - which always makes conversations quite intimate.

Their network coverage is very, very poor, hence why I want to leave them.
