What A Start!

I know it was only stoke, and there were poor. But what a refreshing change. Muamba was MOM. elmander looks class, very direct gets a shot off asap. he helped davies who played with so much freedom and confidence. back 4 solid. nolan great start. We looked very fit, and at times quite arrogant. There seemed to be a tactic today of getting crosses in early. Steinson, goal of the month contender

We are top of the league

God to see Browny win too/

Bring on the toon.

I'm all giddy?????!!!!!!!!!

We aren't going to break the deadlock with a wonder goal like that very often and most PL teams won't concede soft goals like the Davies and Elmander headers.Muamba's strong run and though ball to Elmander was promising but he is essentially a defensive player. We are a Jay Jay/Berkovic/Curcic type in central midfield at the expense of either Joey O'brien or Nolan away from being a team that can comfortably finish in mid table.

I know where your coming from and against certain teams with players who can cope with us we will look truly awful, but we did at times with BSA, but averaged out we were more succesful than not.

A creative type of midfield player maybe would complement us, but Megson seems to have earmarked Nolan for that role, and while not as easy on the eye as the other players you have mentioned, if he can chip in with 8-10 goals from that position then we should have a reasonable season????

I do think the way he has set us up allows more players to get in the box that last season and maybe that is his way of increasing the goal tally this year??

Lets hope the whole team contribute towards our goal tally this season. More goals needed from defence and midfield and we will be reet.

Happy with our back line.

Good result which easily could have been more. Maumba looked very energetic and Elmander chased down everything.

Bring on Newcastle now

Megson took off Elmander to prevent him getting injured in a game that was already won.

We conceded a late goal, so some of you f?ckers would still have something to moan about.

But they managed to time it so most of our support had pissed off home

I was going out at 5.45pm in warrington sat night so i heard fullers goal on gmr as i was leaving car park - guilty as charged but i will admit it as i dont leave early often / hardly ever

Good performance and good result. We looked fit and organised which is a relief after the LSL directed shambles of last season. I suspect we won't score too many goals away without more creativity - we need that extra signing.

Stoke were the most one dimensional Prem team I have EVER seen. All Prem teams have big strong defenders and do their home work on teams they are about to play - if that is the strategy Stoke are planning for survival then jeez, Pulis is incredibly naive. Sunderland were bad, worse than Stoke IMO, when we beat them 2-0 in 05/06, but given it was the first day of a new season and Stoke were meant to be on a high, I left with the feeling they would be lucky to win one game all season.
