Our New Attacking Forces - Riga & Elmander

Riga - I've only seen him a few times (as we all have) & I've got to say that from what I have seen I just don't share the positive views that a lot of people seem to have about him. He may well be a different player after a run in the side, but unless we get injuries I can't see Megson giving him a run. So far I've seen that he's got a burst of pace, but hasn't really got much at the end of that. I hope I'm wrong, but so far all I'm seeing is the white elephant that is the black Daniel Braaten.

Elmander - Again, we haven't seen to much, but personally I think he's the man to potentially keep us up this season. I think he's lacking a bit of service, confidence & obviously another goal or 2. He works his balls off, likes to get a shot off early & if he stays injury free I think he could be the man. One key to Elmander's success could be the sigining of a quality creative midfielder to supply more quality to him.

100% agree Hazzy. Just don't see why people have such great regard for Riga. Hopefully, they have seen summat I haven't and he suddenly blossoms.

played well against west brom, got his shot off early, and usually on target, ran at defenders and put in decent delivery.

the other side of him

against everton, shot too much without looking for teammates, far too many floated balls in the box which the keeper got easily and as soon as he crossed the half way line he looked clueless.

hopefully one to improve quickly..

Think elmander as the striker and riga behind him will do the trick. Riga played most of his matches in spain that way and with his pace he can create opportunities. Dunno why megson puts him as a winger, cause hes basically not a winger. Let's have gardner and taylor on the wings (or smolarek, but megson doesnt want to play him) and play some attacking FOOTBALL

McCann will play today wont he?

Who will he leave out?Riga has got to start,

them Brazilian fags wont fancy this today and

we will win.

Is it only a one match ban for a double yellow?

In that case if i were ginger then i'd play

Jussi

Steinsson AOB Cahill Samuel

McCann

Taylor Nolan Gardner

Elmander

Smolarek

if davies didnt start, then megson out would chanted from the KO.

True he would, but KD wasn't his usual self against everton, i think he needs a rest.

Give Smolarek a run with Elmander; they've played together before. Try anything different

we tried something different against everton and although we didnt win, we were far more attacking. we cant keep changing it, we need to persevere for a while (as long as megson has left anyway)

saying that if we commit too many men forward today, city will rip us apart on the break.

Agreed- with our new found attacking status, reckon a guy with a half decent scoring record may be more useful than the Davies battering ram.

dunno where elmander was

somewhat ironic our win was down to 4 of sams men

nolan, davies, jussi and ricardo

You could say, 3 of Todd's men.

two of those 4 were signed by Todd, while another came through the youth ranks to sign pro forms during Todd's days.

nah, if dropped he would have been on bench.

Agree totally with them points. Riga is very overrated, more of an impact player from the bench deffo not a 90 minute player. The key to us doing well is getting good crosses in, if we get decent crosses in Elmander and Davies will score goals. We need a decent right winger in january imo.

Wasn't Daniel Braaten black anyway?

Wasn't Daniel Braaten black anyway?

He still is, as far as I'm aware.
