So its a tough one!

Hmmm...I'm not a million miles from Matlock, and it has a curry house which is the only one I've ever been in that does "kidney vindaloo". Mind you, the last time I was there the robbing ćunts short changed me by ?5 Might nip up for that one; have to drive though so can't get tanked up - which kind of defeats the object

leigh white
Just done some browsing on a non league forum, and Buxton fans reckon Matlocks clubhouse smells like a very musty old church hall, like "Dads Army" used to attend. Be a bit more mustier Saturday when us stinking Leythers get in.

No, I wouldn't go that far. But I enjoyed the Hyde United game against Tamworth yesterday. And I love tha chips & peas & gravy & pies you can get at many non-league grounds up here - without much queuing.

Full of character and pretty big for that League? Pay cash on the door, stand up and walking distance from the town centre. Those were the days. Will be returning to Victory Park for sure. It's not that long ago when Victory Park was one of the best non league grounds in the country. Sadly with the deteriation of the pitch and the fact that conference teams have had to upgrade their grounds and former league teams falling out of the league, that claim is no longer valid. If only the owner would stick his hand in his pocket and give the team some dosh, they could be climbing to the top of the non league lasdder again. They were top of the Conference in the 80s. Went to Chorleys first ever game v Barnet in the 85/86 season in the conferance, had a natter with Paul Mariner at H/T in the clubhouse. What a signing he would have made for the whites.
