Megson moves in with surprise ?650,000 bid for Wolves midfielder Davies

Gary Megson has lined up a shock ?650,000 raid on Wolves for midfielder Mark Davies. Bolton manager Megson is ready to poach Davies from Molineux after tabling a firm bid for the 20-year-old on Thursday night.

Davies is currently on loan at League One leaders Leicester City, who made a ?300,000 bid earlier this week, but now he is bound for the Barclays Premier League.

mind you, reading some of the quotes, they're hardly scathing attacks, just sceptical

as I'm sure most of us were till we saw him in action

Your right Zico, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

but it does go to show Megson knows what he is doing, unlike these planpots.

Moxey rues Davies departure

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has spoken of how his 'heart sank' when Mark Davies joined Bolton.

Moxey admits he was disappointed to lose the highly-rated midfielder so early in his career.

"We're very, very sorry to see him go," he told the club's official website.

"Many people said 'eyebrows were raised', well, as the eyebrows were raised my heart sank when the deal was finally done because we didn't want Mark to go."
