Mark Davies - Signed

Megson moves in with surprise ?650,000 bid for Wolves midfielder Davies

Gary Megson has lined up a shock ?650,000 raid on Wolves for midfielder Mark Davies. Bolton manager Megson is ready to poach Davies from Molineux after tabling a firm bid for the 20-year-old on Thursday night.

Davies is currently on loan at League One leaders Leicester City, who made a ?300,000 bid earlier this week, but now he is bound for the Barclays Premier League.

He won't fit into a Megson team.

He's used to running forward, attacking the opposition.

I'm not sure Megson knows there are two halves on a football pitch.

Thats rich coming from a team playing kick and rush in a tin pot league. Cheeky cunt

Christ almighty, stop using Leeds as a reason not to spend money, you'll be telling us not to cross the road because someone got knocked down once. It happened to one club. And as for all the other clubs who were in the Premiership and aren't now - it's because they played shit football, had a shit manager and were probably too busy "building for the future" and found themselves relegated.

Get a name in Gary, get them on loan if you want, make it short term. But put us back on the map, give us something to talk about in the pub, something to get excited about, something to give us a full house once or twice in a season, someone to remember "Hey, what about when XXX played for the club". Just do it to humour those of us who don't go to every game now because we think the whole football thing is a bit rubbish at the moment.

Sorry if this is a little bit too exciting for some people. Oh yeah, what if we did a Leeds....

Spend what money though???

Leeds borrowed their money against their future earnings based on the premise that they would receive Champions League income - they didn't - they went bust had had to sell all their players.

Between 1997/9 to 2001/2 (five seasons) Leeds never finished outside the top five - they bought players such as Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Keane, Robbie Fowler, Mark Viduka, Lee Bowyer, Nigel Martyn, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Danny Mills, Dominic Matteo, Olivier Dacourt, etc, as well as players from their acadamy such as Jonathon Woodgate, Alan Smith, Paul Robinson, Harry Kewell, Aaron Lennon, Scott Carson, James Milner, etc - yet they all had to be sold - not because they were playing crap - but because the club had borrowed money that it could not afford to pay back!!!!

We are over ?50 million in debt - in the middle of a credit crunch in which even the banks have had to been bailed out by the government so where is this money you want us to spend coming from????

Sorry if that is a little bit realistic for some people. Oh yeah look at Leeds - seventh place Division 3.......

I have it on good authority that Traf is now furiously castigating himself, in the privacy of his cupboard under the stairs

Why would Megson buy a player, unless he thought he could make use of him.

Smolarek, Shittu to name but two - though they are in the minority, so I still back his transfer deals. Whether Megson is prepared to throw him in this season is another question.

Why did Wolves loan him out, is he not ready even for the Championship?

smolarek yeah but he is only on loan and as for shittu i don't think he is to bad a signing what was he 2million and when we get injuries he can step in and do a job not much considering premier league prices

as far as i now i think he was injured for about 2 years and it was a better way of him regaining fitness than playing for the reserves skipping around a few wolves message boards though and they reckon he should have been straight back into there first team so they do rate the lad i think we may have a really good prospect here hopefully not a injury prone one

I think hes been injured and therefore I assume (I could be wrong) went out on loan to get match fit

is he in that opus dei?

So we agree that he's a cunt?

Definatley, still cant believe the cheek!

dont we need players that can come in and do a job now?

dont we need players that can come in and do a job now?

can he not?

not arguing with you, I know nothing of him; might he be able to contribute straight away?

My question as well. How long before he's in contention for starting?

Obviously nobody can answer this (stupid question then really), just have to see when his appears on the teamsheet/bench.

He's already here. the news broke on Sky this afternoon that he'd signed for us he was sitting in the De Vere on the couch next to me. He was posing for a few pics holding up a Bolton shirt with a photographer from the club.

Did you sell him a mortgage?

Well these are his recent stats

2005/6 - 24 appearances for Wolves

2006/7 - 10 appearances for Wolves

2007/8 - no appearances - out with bad knee injury

2008/9 - 1 appearances for Wolves (and 1 goal)

- 9 appearances for Leicester (who are in the third division) (and 2 goals)

I must admit that I am concerned as to why Wolves loaned him out if he is half decent. If he was injured and as some say it is to get him fit then fair enough. However, remember Rasiak? Another considered not good enough for the Southampton first team in the Championship so we got him on loan.

Different kettle of fish to Rasiak, we already knew Rasiak was shit before we got him. This lad has had nothing but praise from all corners, hes a lot younger and can still develop and improve.
