Mark Davies - Signed

Megson moves in with surprise ?650,000 bid for Wolves midfielder Davies

Gary Megson has lined up a shock ?650,000 raid on Wolves for midfielder Mark Davies. Bolton manager Megson is ready to poach Davies from Molineux after tabling a firm bid for the 20-year-old on Thursday night.

Davies is currently on loan at League One leaders Leicester City, who made a ?300,000 bid earlier this week, but now he is bound for the Barclays Premier League.

great home debut. thought we did ok today. that bald defender is wank. letting the ball bounce is fucking suicide.

Yeh, and that goal was pure luck! FFS!

Why do some people only see the negative things in life. Why are those people usually Bolton Fans!

when its blowing a gale and the ball is coming down from planet jupiter, its hardly surprising he didnt head it

said it elsewhere

if he can be decent defending, he'll do for me

cos with the ball, absolute class

Funny how people see things so differently. For me he was very good and I was very impressed. I agree though that letting the ball bounce is a bit stupid.

that is the only basis for my comments. other parts may have been excellent but you cannot let the ball bounce

This lads looks the business! He's got everything. Pace, skill, vision, confidence. And for how much he cost! Credit where credits due. Well done Megson and the backroom staff! I think we'll be lucky if we have him at the end of his contract.

I was a bit down about Nolan leaving and the other stuff but this lad cheered me up

here here , thought the lad had a belting game !

We been missing a runner from central midfield since Jay Jay

I think we have found him

Very, very impressed especially the run at the end when we were 3-2 up

Looks promising

very true, i thought the bald guy was fucking immense today!?!?

we some how turned that rub into a spurs break !!

he was superb today, very very impressed.

the kid was outstanding, i cant remember the last time i was so impressed with a bolton player. wonder how long before he gets that coached out of him and he resorts to the big punt like the rest of the twats?

Agreed, but if the bald defender was just that bit taller, he would be playing for one of the top four imho.

Mark Davies played well today. Quick feet and dynamic runs from the midfield. He has freat vision and is a quick passer. Things look good!!

Looks like one of the calmest and most assured defenders I have seen for a long time. Really chuffed with his signing and Mark Davies was superb today.

Things looking up but I'm sure the vultures are hovering waiting for the next unfavourable result and they'll be on here again.

Only slight concern is how the bald eagle gets drawn to the ball. We had 4 players pulled out to close down the cross on the first goal leaving Cahill lonely in the centre. Overall though looks composed.

And what a surprise with Davies, another decent looking young England player added to the every changing squad under Megson. There again though, Megson is to blame for that too though, how dare he clear out the dead wood and bring in young English talent. What a fcuking wanker.

Why the f?ck are we signing sh?te from League one?

An absolute class act we've got here and fair play Megson for that. The kid has everything and is just the type of player we have been crying out for. His free kick for the first goal today was immense.

Yatesy - your synopses are taken with the Dead Sea in these parts based on your track record with Anelka and, more recently, 'how long will we persevere with SKD?' (BTW, that last one will become a WWays anthem along side 'I am sickened').

I have seen the last two games live and I think you need to give him more than a game and half to gel FFS. As others have said, with the ball at his feet, he looks almost Beckenbaueresque compared to big Danny or AOB. I used to be almost soiling myself any time the ball was near either of their feet in our penalty area. Give him time. Optimistic that he and Cahill will form a fine partnership.

the bald guy should be a little bit taller, he should be a baller, he should have a girl if he does he should call her...

Bolty mate - see my post on the SKD thread. I'm taking full credit for a second success at getting a player to open the goal scoring tap :drinks:

I like the French guy, as I said and you mention - looks super composed on the ball. His odd poor positional play seems to unluckily be leading to us conceding a goal at the moment. Sure its just time though.

With Elmander back, the team is looking strong. More squad needed but Megson is continuing to take us in the right direction.

:good: Like the optimistic tone to that mate. If only you could work your magic on some of the f?ckwit fans we have and get them to get behind the team & manager 100%, I have no doubt that the results would be great.

I was pleased with the manner we approached the game today.

The Allardyce-era big punt seems to be disappearing, as we tried to play football from the back.

The Bald Eagle had a good game, took his goal well and seems very comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Mark Davies had an excellent full debut too, and Kevin Davies was just Kevin Davies at his best.

FAO those not sure about Puygrenier: he's still new to the English game, but so far so good.

There doesn't seem to be much mentioned about the very early switch to 442. I was sure that we started with Gardner in the midfield 3, Davies and Taylor on the wings, and Makalula up front on his own. Then within about 5 or 10 minutes we were playing 442 and playing much better, it seems to suit a lot of our players a lot more.

The substitution of Makalula, bringing on Smolarek was also a good move IMO. Makalula looked fooked again and probably wasn't at his best (wasn't as bad as some around me were making out though). Smolarek looked lively and produced some good stuff, also looked good along side Davies.

Megson is completely tactically inept though.

I do not recall a better free kick that resulted in a goal in all my times of watching Bowton at t'reebok

Apparently it's another ?1m after 30 games and 15% sell on clause. I've been on the Wolves board to thank them :yahoo:
