January 24, 200917 yr Bolton are trying to sign Sporting Lisbon star Miguel Veloso for ?12m. (Daily Mirror) SSN says Bolton officials are in Lisbon trying to broker a deal.........Think this is a bit far fetched !!
January 27, 200917 yr Put your rod away Some people are never happy. This would be a massive signing for us
January 27, 200917 yr Does it really matter, if he signed a 10 year deal we know at the end of the day its not worth the paper its written on Very true, tyls. But this way, we all know what it's about from the start - so no big disappointments along the way.
January 27, 200917 yr And anyway it's just as likely to be a (another) case of his agent using BWFC as a stalking horse to force out bigger/richer clubs. Sadly.
January 27, 200917 yr A bit more from Marado - "Two year deal with Bolton. Well Megson was saying in the press conference that Eddie Davies always backs them up, when they see a promising player, so I'm starting to think that you guys could truly land this players for your club. Sporting is in need of the money also, they are a top club, but have low revenue, they normally need to sell players at the end of the season to balance there accounts. They have a promising youngster called Adrien in the main squad also, so he can substitute Veloso with no problem and they summon another youth player from the Puma Academy (Sporting's cademy name). But i must say, with that money, you can get a much better player than Veloso". He goes on to name three players, one of whom is Pele who Portsmouth have signed - "YOU SHOULD OF GOT THIS PLAYER" is what Marado says! He then goes on to say - "I don't believe my source also, it's 90% bullshit. eheh. They are most likely using Man City in the press to force Bolton to make a higher bid, that's what usually happens in these negotiation, the players agent says "I have a higher bid, so what's it gonna be Eddie?" All this and much more from here - http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/forum/index.p...41.html#msg2941
January 27, 200917 yr Just had word that we are struggling to persuade him to sign, we are trying to convince him that move to us would get him a move to a big club eventually but hes stalling on it. I guess hes waiting to see if any bigger fish come in for him?

January 27, 200917 yr Does the fact that we're talking to him mean we've matched Sporting's valuation? Im guessing so. Hopefully if nobody comes in with an offer in next 24 hours he might sign for us.
January 27, 200917 yr From that and the agents comments before, i reckon they're making one last attempt at flushing out better offers, and then he'll sign. Heres hoping. Edited January 27, 200917 yr by Tombwfc

January 27, 200917 yr So do I. It'll be somebody else for the fucktards, idiots and general retards to slag off if he doesn't set the world on fire within 15 mins of landing.

Some of the people on here will slag him off if he doesn't bag with his third touch having beaten 3 players with his first two
January 28, 200917 yr Not much of a better chance than kakky to city? Like Anelka coming to Little Owd Bowton. Believe!
January 28, 200917 yr If (and it's a big if!) we persuade Veloso to come, it will be under the same terms as we signed Anelka. ie come to us, give us a season or so in the shop window and we'll get you your big money move that you can't currently get. He gets his big move 12-18 months later than he wanted, but at present the big boys aren't interested. We get his services for 12-18 months. We make a nice profit on him. Everyone's a winner, as long as the Bolton fans don't kick off when he's sold. Anelka was always leaving under the same terms.

Agreed though that if he does do well,we'll lose the guy within 12 months to one of the big boys, but we should make a profit on him and we'll have obviously benifitted from his time here.

I can live with that Traf, we can use any money made to reduce the debt or buy some more players I'm not that fussed
January 28, 200917 yr Any news whether this is a nay or a yay yet. Have BWFC given him a deadline before we move to Plan B
