Guest Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 In that context, within the next couple of seasons if not this one. IF we went down, would PG be morally bound to resign?
Traf Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 IF we went down, would PG be morally bound to resign? Not at all. Why would you think so?
Guest Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Not at all. Why would you think so? He is his man, he's stuck by him, backed him in the market, given him a contract.
Casino Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 He is his man, he's stuck by him, backed him in the market, given him a contract. so, you geta formula 1 drive, but unfortunately, you're given delboys reliant amazingly enough, you don't give lewis hamilton much of a challenge is it then reasonable you get fired?
no balls Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 He is his man, he's stuck by him, backed him in the market, given him a contract. Did he not give Sammy Lee on too? I'm not saying he has done the right/wrongthing in giving him a contract but am I take it that if you've ever made any poor decisions in your worklife you've been asked to resign from that post?

MickyD Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 He is his man, he's stuck by him, backed him in the market, given him a contract. I thought the VERY WELL PUBLICISED explanation as to why he was given a contract at this stage of the season was that Premier League rules state that, after a given amount of time has expired, a manager of a Premier League Club must then be under contract to his club. Or words to that effect. Therefore PG wasn't in a position to tell GM that the contract would be discussed at the end of this season and dependant on the success of the team in retaining their Premiership status.

Thanks, Mick, for putting me right on that. There's a half waiting for you should we ever have the occasion.

Traf Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 If you got the chance to read some of the PMs I get from disgruntled "customers" off here, or if you read some of the stuff aimed at me on other inferior Wanderers forums, you'd realise that I was being ironic in labelling myself a New Socialist.
