Lancashire County Cricket Club has joined the campaign for England to celebrate St George's Day with an initiative of their own.

 

 

From 9am on Monday 20th April and until 5pm Thursday 23rd April, the Red Rose County is giving away 500 pairs of tickets to Day 1 of Lancashire?s LV County Championship match against Nottinghamshire CCC at Old Trafford (29 April ? 2 May).

 

Nottinghamshire finished runners-up to Durham in last year?s Division 1 County Championship and all indications are they will be just as strong in 2009. Subject to fitness, Notts will have Graeme Swann available for this clash, as well as Samit Patel, Darren Pattinson and Australian Adam Voges.

 

This fixture will be Lancashire?s first home Championship match of the season, with Captain Glen Chapple and his men hoping supporters will turn up in their numbers to cheer them on.
