3 Point Plan For Thefuture

Featured Replies

Firstly I should declare that I have been patient in my support for Mr Megson, and it is with a heavy heart and no little consideration that I make these declarations.

Here is my (selfish) 3 ( or 4) point plan for a more enjoyable season next year :

1. Burnley fail to get promoted

2. We lose at home to Hull. As a consequence Newcastl get relagated. We're already safe.

3. As a consequence of this disappointing run-in Mr Megson agrees to leave by mutual consent.

4. We appoint Owen Coyle as our manager. I always liked singing "one owen coyle", because literally there is. And I would like to see us play some decent football for a change. When was the last time we played well? Life's too short, we should go for it!

We now have a new challenge as a club for next season, and the anti Megson brigade are happy.

I'll count that as a Nay then?

First 2 points I can live with, point 3 don?t see any reason why he should, and then to compound that you want a guy who as failed to get a team promoted in point 1

I have a three point plan:

1. Get maximum points from the next two games to increase spending power for the summer.

2. Sign quality players in the summer

3. Get behing Megson and the team next season.

I really don't understand this notion. :nea:

Owen coyle is a gamble I would like to see. At the risk of being considred a traitor, the future is not bright with Gary Megson. That's just my opinion. I won't chant it and I wont display baners about it but it's what a lot of loyal fans think privately too

As for your "One Owen Coyle" song, I can't remember that being sung much when he was here, in fact never. The song went "Owen Coyle, Owen Coyle, Owen Owen Coyle, he gets the ball, he scores a goyl, Owen Owen Coyle".

He was a pretty shit striker with no predatory instincts, always wanting another touch, hence the nickname "Ten Touches". I can only remember 3 of his goals, Wembley, Goodison and one against Wolves when he miskicked it in.

Cracking bloke but when did he become a legend/The Messiah?

And if we weren't top of the league at christmas you would turn on him as you seem to have turned on the current manager.

Bumping into a Gary Megson fan at the Reebok is about as rare as finding an honest MP. That joke Off Off thing went pretty much round the Reebok and it's been months since anyone asked him to give them a wave or sung his Mourinho song.

So where are all his supporters? Go in the fanzone, find a table, within a couple of minutes a group of strangers are agreeing that he isnt good enough. Half time concourse drink, all you hear are people giving him stick.

I think we should make a change, partly because I think he isnt a very good manager and partly as has been said to unite the fan base again.

Can't believe I am saying this - but I totally agree with you Carlos!!!

I dont think we should gamble our premiship future on an inexperienced manager.

I don't WANT him gone, but i can't say i'd be overly bothered if he left and someone better came in to replace him, that person is not Owen Coyle and i don't know would be better

Am I the only one who's spotted that his "3 point plan"............ has 4 points in it?

haha nope i hadn't spotted that

I don't think he's a great manager, though I think he's done what's been asked of him up till now.

Funny you should mention the Fanzone though, I went in once. When the teams were announced, some bright lads booed some of the names. I'll not take their opinion too seriously & I do hope that people like that I'll not 'unite' with.

Spotted that but to be fair the ramblings go on to say

And if we weren't top of the league at christmas you would turn on him as you seem to have turned on the current manager.

The current manager has brought the most boring football to our club then I can remember in 40 years of watching footbll.

How can you even contemplate in supporting him; its not the position in the league its the overall standard of football and his niaivity of understanding what paying customers actually are entitled to - another season like this one and we will be getting crowds of less than 10000.

We dont do cups and dont consider ourselves good enough to try and beat the top four clubs- its a fight for 0-0 draws from the start of the season so what is the point?

Up until now I have tried to stay impartial with regards to Gary. But here goes.....

I am literally giving him until December, so far we have Birmingham and Wolves coming up and hopefully Burnley. None of these 3 teams are as weak as the three that came up this year (as I see both Birmingham and Burnley actually doing quite well in the PL). It has been the weak coming up teams in the last two season that have helped Bolton more than anything else. This next time, I do hope there is real improvement in our squad and on the pitch (not denying that we have improved this year). I am not saying a Europa League spot or challenging the top 5 but we should aim for either 8th or 9th place next season (as it will be more or less 2 full season with Gary in Charge and as such he plan should be already in action for that sort of position). If we are still "struggling" next season (i.e. still lower mid table) then December should be the devine time as to whether Gary is working out or not - for me.
