3 Point Plan For Thefuture

Featured Replies

I dont think we should gamble our premiship future on an inexperienced manager.

2 words - Sam Allardyce - he was unexperienced in the Prem - he brought us into the Prem and kept us here (as well as 2 UEFA seasons!!!). Gambles do pay off.

Not saying Owen Coyle is THE gamble, but who knows!

goals against gretna?

5, and one against Arsenal at home, 6.

Bumping into a Gary Megson fan at the Reebok is about as rare as finding an honest MP. That joke Off Off thing went pretty much round the Reebok and it's been months since anyone asked him to give them a wave or sung his Mourinho song.

So where are all his supporters? Go in the fanzone, find a table, within a couple of minutes a group of strangers are agreeing that he isnt good enough. Half time concourse drink, all you hear are people giving him stick.

I think we should make a change, partly because I think he isnt a very good manager and partly as has been said to unite the fan base again.

I don't think he has any supporters as such, just people who think those that those who slag the bloke off constantly are cunts. Fanzone, concourse, websites, on the bog, in your sleep... Give it a fucking rest. Being more vocal in your opinions doesn't necessarily put you in the majority, it just means there are too many gobby twats who aren't happy unless they are moaning. They are usually thick as pigshit and any sensile person would simply move away from them.

And since when has uniting the fan base been important in any way? I want nothing to do with folk like you no matter who is in charge.

I don't think he's a great manager, though I think he's done what's been asked of him up till now.

Funny you should mention the Fanzone though, I went in once. When the teams were announced, some bright lads booed some of the names. I'll not take their opinion too seriously & I do hope that people like that I'll not 'unite' with.

Fair points nb. Ive been in the fanzone and not heard any name booing, not to say it doesnt happen. Some players get bigger cheers, bit like when the team's announced in the ground. Every player seems to get his name cheered and it's rare to hear any boos at that stage. Always a bit strange that the subs are announced to almost silence.

When Sam Allardyce was appointed we were struggling in the bottom half of the lower tier, a bit of a different situation.

The current manager has brought the most boring football to our club then I can remember in 40 years of watching footbll.

How can you even contemplate in supporting him; its not the position in the league its the overall standard of football and his niaivity of understanding what paying customers actually are entitled to - another season like this one and we will be getting crowds of less than 10000.

We dont do cups and dont consider ourselves good enough to try and beat the top four clubs- its a fight for 0-0 draws from the start of the season so what is the point?

Don't understand this point

this season we went out early in the League cup to Northampton thanks to a shit performance when we should've beaten them easily with the side put out as we only did what every prem team does against lower league oppo stick a side consisting of a couple of the 2nd stringers

Jussi Jaaskelainen

Gretar Rafn Steinsson

Gary Cahill

Dan Shittu

Jlloyd Samuel

Gavin McCann

Fabrice Muamba

Joey O'Brien

Mustapha Riga

Heidar Helguson

Ricardo Gardner

of that team only JOB, Shittu, Riga and Helgusson are not in the 1st 11 and our star CB got himself sent off for a stupid challenge

and against sunderland our 1st 11 were well beaten on the day it's not like we forfeitted

When Sam Allardyce was appointed we were struggling in the bottom half of the lower tier, a bit of a different situation.

Now you know the rules, no using facts

When Sam Allardyce was appointed we were struggling in the bottom half of the lower tier, a bit of a different situation.

But you cannot deny he was a gamble and a gamble that paid off

But you cannot deny he was a gamble and a gamble that paid off

If it was a gamble, which I am not entirely convinced of going off what he did at Blackpool and Notts County, then yes it paid off massively

But you cannot deny he was a gamble and a gamble that paid off

Maybe, but he was also given 5 years to implement is plan by the club and if I remember when he was appoint a lot of people want someone other then Sam, does that have a familiar ring to it

thanks for the responses, I get the message.

It's all about opinions and we all have our own. Just because I express my frustrations about Megson It doesn't mean I care any less about our team than someone who is more tolerant of his management skills and potential. I wiil still re-new my ticket next year come what may, which I can't say for several of my mates, that speaks volumes in itself.

I honestly can't see us progressing much further under megson and I think we should be doing just that considering we are an established PL side.

That isn't intended to be an open invitation to slag me off..... it's my opinion based on my love for my team.

So, what's your plan of competing with clubs like City and Villa who have billionaire owners whilst ours is worth about ?33m? We simply can't compete, it's no one's fault, it's just the way it is.

We should be above Stoke and Wigan, I can't see how we go beyond that with 19,000 "fans" and a big debt unless we change the plan to:

1) Get Billionaire owner

2) Get Mourinho in

3) Sign kaka and Messi

I know. We were spoiled for a few years under Sam, and I would relish a return to the days of more exitement, of being perceived as an attractive option for players with class and flare.JJ youri and the like

Maybe you're right I should be happy with the status quo, but unfortunately I'm not and you are.

Worthy (IMO) I don't see that people are "happy", it's that we are building a team in a particular way and hoping that it works out.

Philosophers.

I never claimed to be happy, just realistic. I'm thinking of fucking off the whole thing until we inevitably go down and lose the hangers on. It's never been for the football on show anyway.

I'm begining to think that qualifying for Europe was the worst thing that ever happened to this club as for some inexplicable reason, people think we should somehow maintain that level.

Get behind Megson is the best idea I have seen on here for a good while

A brief analagy:

with a bit of imagination

If Megson were your wife/husand/boyfriend/girlfriend or significant other, would you work with the relationship or dump him?????

Thing is Allardyce discovered a untouched market for players then everyone else jumped on board and now the market is exposed players want more coin as more clubs are interested, the pool of players we are able to chose from is getting smaller along with that goes the quality folk so called crave, tis the state of football

Itd be like having the mrs, things gone a bit stale but every now and then when you get home from work you get that nosh youre least expecting so that makes you think things aint to bad after all :good:

I honestly can't see us progressing much further under megson and I think we should be doing just that considering we are an established PL side.

Problem is, the lower laegues are littered with 'established clubs' that wanted to move on that next step too quickly.

Two more could still be joining them this season, Newcastle and Boro. The reason Newcastle are down there is too much chopping and changing and destabilisation. Boro are down there because of appointing an inexperienced manager at PL level. I think my point here is fairly obvious.

And then the kicker would be that with our debt getting relegated within the next 2/3 seasons could mean administration after administration. Now, maybe the football is boring at times. But I'd much rather having a few boring seasons in the Prem than loads of those 'exciting' relegation battles in the Fizzy Pop leagues, and if we're unlucky worse. Obviously, it's not definite that that would happen, but I wouldn't want to take that risk.

If the Mrs could keep my business going for yet another year - the 13th best in the country at the moment - despite it being ?53.5 million in debt with liabilities of ?72.7 million to find in the next twelve months whilst at the same time I have just lost ?33 million pounds in the last year due to the credit crunch - then I would stick by her irrespective of the sexiness of some floozy from Burnley!

The last thing I would want to do is lose the brains that is keeping me afloat as well as find extra cash for the divorce settlement!

I take it you think with your loins and not your wallet?
