As I said his injuries are part of his history,but i do think there are goals in him,and would be a perfect foil for davies's knock downs.A gamble yes but not a costly one.

12 months ago he was West Hams prized asset.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. No pace and needs too much time and space on the ball. Scores against piss poor defences but that's about it. As overrated a player as you'll see, and he's a crock.

Got to agree with Firthy here. I'd guess that if someone off this board has heard that such-and-such is available then so has every manager up and down the country.

We don't know about his current fitness. A Dean Ashton that is anywhere near full fitness would be a great addition.

It's one thing if we're linked to him (i.e. a "potential signing"), but when it's just any random player who becomes 'available', it's just a total and utter waste of time. Otherwise, the board would just be full of theoretical debates about every single player in the world who's out of contract or up for sale. It's pointless. You might as well talk about how good it would be if we signed Ribery or Kaka.
