but ive got it without wireless for some reason.

does anyone know what I need to buy?

Is it a network card or is that wrong?

You sure it doesn't have wireless built in? There should be a switch on the left hand edge or is it knackered? Anyway, if you need one, a wireless usb dongle is less than a tenner from Scan, Play.com, etc.

If it doesn't, I've been having all sorts of probs with my Belkin shitty wireless card so I got a USB dongle for a tenner and it's bob on.

Just been in contact with friends in France who suggest checking these, I assume they have websites. FNAC, DARTY, COMPUTACENTER or INMAC.

Good luck!

i have a belkin wireless card on mine, can sometimes pick up a free connection without using my broadband dongle, but its only a weak signal.do you think one of the usb dongles you state could improve my chances of the free connection ?

Probably not, but it'll drop your connection less. If you are using it for work then that is a problem.

Someone near our office has just got an unsecured wireless network, great for my iPhone.

the coffin-dodgers who live next door to me have kindly just got an unsecured wireless network, which they leave on 24/7 - ideal, as it means I can stay in my wanking dungeon office, and Mrs CWP can fuck about on her notebook downstairs (on their signal) without annoying me or stealing my bandwidth. Splendid!
