August 10, 200916 yr Contracts mean nothing as regards to players leaving. Just gives us a bit better bargaining tool. Remember Anelka signed a new deal but was soon off.
August 10, 200916 yr I got a message about the very thing late last night. K Davies is signing a new contract soon as well apparantley.
August 10, 200916 yr Has been confirmed on Skysports that Cahill has agreed a three-year contract extension! Best news all Summer in my opinion, lets hope a release clause has been taken out!!
August 10, 200916 yr Contracts mean nothing as regards to players leaving. Just gives us a bit better bargaining tool. Remember Anelka signed a new deal but was soon off. The only reason Anelka signed a new contract was to remove the get out clause, the club got a higher amount, the player got a higher wage, he was always going to be sold in the january
August 10, 200916 yr One thing it does show - the players are happy to stay and play for the manager.
August 10, 200916 yr Has been confirmed on Skysports that Cahill has agreed a three-year contract extension! Best news all Summer in my opinion, lets hope a release clause has been taken out!! Les't be realistic, it's more likely that one has been put in! - altrhough I would expect it to be up near 15M~?20M in order to frighten most folk off
August 10, 200916 yr Les't be realistic, it's more likely that one has been put in! - altrhough I would expect it to be up near 15M~?20M in order to frighten most folk off true, and only a top 4 club plus city and maybe spurs would make such an offer.
August 10, 200916 yr Author Contracts mean nothing as regards to players leaving. Just gives us a bit better bargaining tool. Remember Anelka signed a new deal but was soon off. I know that ...... but means we should get a better deal if we sell him, and meanwhile he's firmly ours. Surely it's good news ......

August 10, 200916 yr I know that ...... but means we should get a better deal if we sell him, and meanwhile he's firmly ours.Surely it's good news ...... It is great news, but no doubt one of the doom mongers will come along, and turn this in to a bad thing, and blame Megson for it
August 10, 200916 yr Grand news, indeed, we have got a committed player who would command a large transfer fee should the time come he needs to move on
August 10, 200916 yr Yup, it is good news, especially with all the rumours about at the moment ie if Lescott goes, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal etc all in the market for a centre half etc. Good on him for signing and credit to Megson and the board for getting him to sign a new deal
August 10, 200916 yr Les't be realistic, it's more likely that one has been put in! - altrhough I would expect it to be up near 15M~?20M in order to frighten most folk off If that's the case,it's a good deal all round. Fantastic news.I'm expecting a great season from GC.
August 10, 200916 yr Fantastic news.I'm expecting a great season from GC. I would have thought he will be wanting to get into the sqaud for the WC at the end of the year. As things stand, he's probably just outside the squad, so hopefully this will spur him on to have a consistant season.

August 10, 200916 yr How do the Daily Mail get to print a story yet our own clubs website is a few hours behind because our website isnt run by the club?
August 10, 200916 yr because our website isnt run by the club? Doesnt matter who runs it, it should be on there before the press gets it IMO but I suppose with the way of 24 hour news and internet maybe its not possible. Edited August 10, 200916 yr by superjohnmcginlay
August 10, 200916 yr How do the Daily Mail get to print a story yet our own clubs website is a few hours behind Newspaper's peddle gossip & stuff on the grapevine, & sometimes it comes off sometimes it does. How many times have we read stuff that's turned out to be guff? Official sites are, by definition, official.
August 10, 200916 yr Doesnt matter who runs it, it should be on there before the press gets it IMO but I suppose with the way of 24 hour news and internet maybe its not possible. BWFC could quite have easily put the request in for this story to be published before the mail got wind trouble is, the 3rd party who they then have to rely on to get it printed often take a while getting round to getting a story up much to the frustration of BWFC and several other clubs who got tied into a long old deal with the company who do their sites and daily mail prob got wind as they often do and are able to get their story up quicker

August 10, 200916 yr The only reason Anelka signed a new contract was to remove the get out clause, the club got a higher amount, the player got a higher wage, he was always going to be sold in the january Exactly my point...gives us a better bargaining tool so we got more cash than we may have done for Anelka.
August 10, 200916 yr I know that ...... but means we should get a better deal if we sell him, and meanwhile he's firmly ours.Surely it's good news ...... As above..
