September 9, 200916 yr Need to look at the positives. Just think of all the shirts the sports stores up there will sell of Englands 3 group opponents.
September 10, 200916 yr To be honest, I on one hand am sad. This because of the mates I have made north of the border over the years. (including our Jazza who I would say is a more loyal bwfc fan than I have been these last 15 years!!.) There are the players and managers....... BR, Supa, Owen coyle and Andy W.............. But looking back on the other hand I like many England fans I have grown sick of the anti England sport, and self gratification they have for us that has probably always been there but we no longer accept but then did for years!. Then there is an underlying hatred for everything English that has grown ..... if you aint anti English you ain't Scottish. This is to me on a par with the crazy anti German sentiment that is spread throughout the English support and is adopted by the young chav element and goaded on by older heads who should know better. To understand this and understand the England violence during cross border games in the late 80's you had to be born in the 60's as an England fan. The East end West Ham / millwall/ Celsea cockneys did not defend our honour in the 60's and 70's when it was deemed acceptable behaviour for Scots to piss all over our turf cause it was in their blood. These sanctimonious Scots who claim they are the best fans in the world conveniently forget that time and what actually happened back then. They twatted us, ran us and bragged about it for 12 years. they then passed the stories onto their sons and it became a badge of honour. In the 60's and early 70's they where the top boys through sheer numbers and attitude towards the English but because they drank a lot told everyone they behaaved when abroad and did not have the same attitude to other foreigners they where heroic miscreants.... give me a break!!!!. We just became better at it and did not need the numbers and alcohol to be brave! Edited September 10, 200916 yr by Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion
September 10, 200916 yr all depends which bit of jockland you frequent, i have drank in many a bar, glaswegian, binghams, lord nelson, the grapes, donning an england top and had no mither. but i would not recommend drinking round barralands or london road area in such a top
September 10, 200916 yr Good programme on telly later, 'World Cup Fever' except Scotland, Wales and Ireland who will show the film 'Out of Africa' Coat please
September 10, 200916 yr Bern .... it's been too long mate, we will have to have another day like we did at that QoS v Morton match a few years ago. Top day out.
September 11, 200916 yr Many years ago I always wanted all the home nations to do well. My opinions have changed after all the anti English and hatred towards us from some of these people. I find it very amusing these days when the Scots, Welsh and Irish get dicked. I am not tarring them all with the same brush though as there are probably many of them who don't behave in this way.
September 11, 200916 yr They're the International equivalent of Tranmere / Bury: used to be at the same level some time ago, but now irrelevant - we have moved on & they have gone backwards. Edited September 11, 200916 yr by Gonk

Agreed. Was it 1978 that almost the entire nation got behind Scotland in a world cup finals that England failed to qualify? And then you get that prick Andy Murray parading in whatever strip England's opponents are wearing!!! Never again will I cheer on the jocks!

I've never cheered them on and never will do, and am happy to see them get stuffed...........but has this actually ever happened??? I thought he was asked a question at Wimbledon about who he was supporting in the World Cup when his own country wasn't there? Tongue in cheek he replied saying whoever was playing England, think it was Paraguay at the time..........a far more reserved answer than I would have given!!!
September 11, 200916 yr He was wearing a Portugal top I seem to recall. Really? Well you learn something new every day!!! Hang the cunt

September 11, 200916 yr Shame none of the other home nations got through to be honest Still, England's relationship to Scotland is a bit like Bolton's relationship to Bury - you are never really arsed how the lower leagues get on are you but they always want to know how we do
September 11, 200916 yr Many years ago I always wanted all the home nations to do well. My opinions have changed after all the anti English and hatred towards us from some of these people. Absolutely. I still kind of like to see them do well, I was willing Scotland on the other night, but there's also part of me that thinks 'good' when they lose now. The depth of anti-English sentiment is pathetic, it goes well beyond football too. I've met people who are so rabidly anti-English it's borderline mental illness. The daft thing is it's groundless. Idiots.
