Everything's fucking cowd up here.

Even Father Christmas moans about it, don't you MR58?

No, don't think they deliver unfortunately. Went there on Sat, always good and has been for many years

Do they do lamb, beef or chicken instead?

One between Bradshaw and Harwood, I presume, as Casino lives in Upper Breightmet.

Aahh i suspected as much, i used to frequent that place as a kid in the early nineties, and enjoyed the interacting with the local talent on many occasions. Its sad to hear what has happened to it.

Which Crofters are you taking about? The one up Halliwell Rd, the one near the Church at the lights, or the one near Horwich. I guessing its not the one on Halliwell Rd, as i was in there last Wednesday and plan to be in there sometime after 8 tonight.

Didnt go into the Crofters tonight, instead we went to the Claremont, which used to be the Lamb, a bit quiet, but the beer was cheap and the bar staff was mighty fine.

Were they Polish by any chance?

Fcuk me Casino, you ask a simple question and 2 pages later still no straight answer! WW at its best!!

Interested to find out too. Went past last night and I see they have finally got round to putting their own signs up on the outside - what little they are able to do with a listed building that is! "Ashoka at the Crofters Arms"

Anyhow, back to the thread, not been myself yet but know a man who has! Very little structual change inside, eating area as was and bar still in place. Pretty good food but not as good as India Gate but it was in the first week of opening and I recall that India Gate was shite for its first few months of operations.

So probably worth a look then!

I've been Pavillion a fair few times and must admit that it's fairly good, BUT for me now, the best is Achari (Mr D's).

Had a Naga on Tuesday, fookin superb!!

Give it a go, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Nope, all home grown, right here in Bolton

I went to Acharis a couple of weeks ago on quite a few recommendations, and unfortunately it wasn't good :( . Happen I had a rogue bad 'un.

Vedas on Marsden road do great food - best I've had in Bolton for a while - but there's never any f*cker in! Decent offer of three courses for ?8 as well on some days iirc...

it was splendid

my chicken tikka naga spesh was spesh

the madras was mild at the side of the naga but an excellent dish

its more india gate than pavilion in decor and clientele

It's very good. I live a walk from there & don't mind wandering in for a lamb karahi take away every now & then. A bottle of cold cobra while you're waiting does not harm too.

Only Pikeys and Peasants don't go India Gate

FACT

Na mind that, just had a reet good steak from Meat Market on Lever Streetdribble.gif

I had a 'Tarka' last week

What? You fucked an otter....?

I thank you Micky........!

Right, and the prize for longest time taken prior to posting about the original topic must go to me.

I frequented the Ashoka for tea tonight with wife and daughter. (Son is in Arran on a geography field trip and, as he doesn't do indian food, we thought we'd take the opportunity)

?9 odd for starter, main and sweet. Top nosh and bloody big portions.

Beer a bit hefty at nearly ?8 for two pints of lager and a lemonade.

Definately worth the money though as the two lightweights in my party brought most of theirs home for tomorrow's tea.

Highly recommended.
