Any Shouts For Javier Irureta

Ex Deportivo La Coruna manager applied for position when Megson was appointed, took Deportivo to numerous european competitions won la liga, knows how to play football,Gartside had applications from this guy Owen Coyle, and chose this useless cunt we should be eternally grateful to the one that knows football better than we do.

Not when he only lasted 3 or 4 games at real zaragoza because he couldn't handle a relagation fight...

Anythin would be better than megson, i think we should approach Camelot and try and bring lottery machine gwynivere in on loan until the summer, we could real it out before kick off to pick the team, It could do the golden gamble at half time as well, 2 birds 1 johnny!

If not the three names i would like to see in are

1. Slaven Billic - Not got a competative game for a year if he stays with Croatia, could bring him in until the summer initially and see how things go.

2. Dick Advocat - loads of experience / contacts, plays good football and was sacked by Zenit st Petersburg a month or 2 ago, may fancy a shot at the big league.

3. Phil Brown - Bolton through and through, done a good job in his three years at Hull and i think he could turn us around on a budget.

Should get a poll together and see who comes out on top for next manager.

Anythin would be better than megson,

This phrase is really starting to get me down.

1. Slaven Billic - He will end up at a bigger club than us

2. Dick Advocat - He wouldn't want to lower himself to our standard

3. Phil Brown - It will never happen while Gartside is the Chairman

All IMO.

And welcome to the forum.

Slaven Bilic would be an excellent choice, however would we be able to pay him what he would want.On the flipside at least we would see a lot more of Klasnic.

Slaven Billic is itching for the prem and his stock has shrunk a little with not qualifying for the world cup, as i say we could possibly tempt him with an initial deal until then end of the season to see how he gets on. long shot but worth an approach.

Dick Advocat has taken jobs in Scotland, Russia and even the South Korean national team, again worth an approach, he may like a shot at a proper league.

Phil Brown did rock the boat a bit but i think Gartside will have to do things differently this time, i think Eddie Davis will have more of a say.

Who would your top 3 replacements be if / when Megson goes?

did a good job in his first 18 months - 2 years and is now a bigger laughing stock than Megson

if we could get Bilic it'd be belting however i fear he's out of our reach

You never know... strange things happen in football... i remember when we signed Youri.. thought it was a wind up...

But Youri Djorkaeff,Nicolas Anelka and Jay Jay Okocha are only mediocrities compared to the superstar that is Slaven Bilic.

Absolutely no chance of an all time great like Slaven Bilic coming....

Great shout on the top 2 birch - established 9 years in the prem team finishing in the top half more times than the bottom and a cup final appearance so there is potential and an attractive proposition would love either of them Dick Advocaat more than Slaven they would get instant repspect from players and fans and would be the difference in attracting players in a competitive transfer market - I would love to see the board show this kind invention when looking for megsons replacement showing as in the past that we are an innovative club and can prove there is more than one way to success in football other than a massive cheque book - too many on here are quick to forget what we've achieved on a CONSISTENT basis pretty much with the same structure and finances we have now

Pass the crackpipe once you've finished.

Wow....steady on....dream on !!!

Wow....steady on....dream on !!!

Can't see anyone with a reasonable job coming to us at the moment.

Would anyone halfways decent take the moaning from Day 1?

Rafa Bentitez may bee looking soon ??

As i said Dick Advocat got sacked from zenit so he is on job seekers - he has previously managed South Korea and teams in the SPL / Russia. Worth a punt as we are in what is widely regarded as the best league in the world.

Billic would be a long shot but he is keen as mustard to prove himself in the prem and his stock has fallen since not qualifying for the world cup - could approach him as an interim replacement until the summer. He would have little to lose and would not have to give up managing Croatia (they dont have a game from now until may).

If we aim for dross we will get Souness! Even worse!

He was appointed coach of the Belgian national team at the start of October.

Gutted, goes to show though if he took the job managing Belgium then we would have had half a chance of getting him at the Reebok.

No it doesnt. Belgium will be one of the best teams in Europe in the next 5 years!

I dont think they will...

Do me a favour, they are ranked 65 in the world, thats behind Benin / Tunisia / Bahrain and just in front of Cyprus / Panama / Mozambique. Not only will he not be managing for a competative game for a year but when he does they will be ranked in pot 3 or 4 meaning qualification for a major tournament is going to be extremly difficult. Ok Standard Liege have produced some decent players but if you think the likes of Fellani and company will become one of the best teams in Europe in the next 5 years then you will have a long wait.

Back to my initial point, if Dick Advocat was still jobless then i would think we would have had a half decent chance of convincing him to come to the Reebok, him taking the below par Belgium Job after being sacked backs up my point.

One person that people aren't mentioning that would be ideal candidate for the job, Alan Curbishley, did it with west ham helped them stay up, other than that Alan Shearer, Roberto Mancini wanted the sunderland job but they fancied Steve Bruce, Avram Grant if he doesn't get the pompey job, Juande Ramos out of a job after cska now possibility?

curbishleys interview

curbs - so, yeah id love to come

pg - you know we'll be selling cahill in january

curbs - oh yeah..no problem........sounds like a great idea selling our best players...never been an issue for me

or maybe not
