Tried getting my head around a Brief History of Time. About half way through now.

Reckon I understood about 30% perfectly - 30% to some degree - and the final 40% might has well have been in Arabic.

It's a long shot - but can anyone on here explain Quantum Physics to me in laymans terms? Ta

I still have a bookmark about 1/3rd of the way though that one and would agree with that***. I've read all of Brysons other stuff and its easy put down pick up stuff, but this book is searching for a part of my brain that just isn't there anymore.

My current read is 'Those About to Die' by Daniel Mannix. Tis about life in the Roman times where they used to kill Christians for fun, Gladiators faught tigers then were invited by Nero to mass orgies, and had horses raping wimmin for being naughty (yes Sue you can borrow it).

When I've finished it I shall be writing to Phil Gartside with a few ideas and suggestions to make Planet Reebok more interesting.

EDIT

***In fact no fuck that, I'm on about A Short History of Nearly Everything ::lol::

Thanks for that - Poor Stan's going to be inundated if I'm not careful!

P.S. Reading this book on the toilet would cause me to seize up. Need something more easygoing like Rogers Profanosaurus!

Sounds like a decent read that.

Bit debauched those Romans. Didn't Caligula marry his horse or something?

You're a smarter man than me, I've been trying to read that book for about 4 years now, I keep having to put it down and come back to it, for fear my head will explode. I can't believe the man with such a lovely and easy writing style as Bryson actually penned that thing!

xmas shopping in manc, then went for meal at a mexican restaurant

It's worse than that - I'm reading a Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawkins - not a Brief History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Have read the Bryson one is the past though and to be honest I was disappointed with it. Seemed to be just fact after fact without all the witty annecdotes which usually make his stuff so great to read.

I had 16 wanks.

:D

I was only skim reading the post and got to the quantum physics thing - thats the point I got to in Brysons book and then put it down and assumed KW had done the same :D

Watched University Challenge, then popped out for a couple pints, (pub empty) came back and had some stilton on digestive biscuits with a glass of port, then settled down to watch Gangs of New York for the umpteenth time. Overall a rubbish night apart from the Stilton which was first rate and beats any of your french cheese hands down.
