Wednesday Night

West ham winning (kind of expected that though) and wolves winning. Worrying. At least Hull are getting turned over

Well as it stands yes suppose we are

Pressure is really on if the results stay the same!

2v0 west ham, cnts. always going to get out of it though with 8 homes to go (all very winnable)

still think its 2 from us, burn, hull and wolves to go with portsmouth. Come on spurs you muppets

Burnley will not stay up with their away record. Portsmouth gone (but hopefully surviving to see out their fictures).

3rd spot is anyone's guess. We need to win at either Wigan, West Ham or Sunderland (or hopefully all 3!)

Blackburn look like they will pull clear - should be 31pts after tonight.

Spineless Spurs Shits. 6pts they have gifted to Wolves.

Cant believe it. Awful night

You can't blame Spurs ..... we gifted Wolves 3 points already.

The bottom line is : we have to get our own wins and reach 38 points or so. And we aren't, so far.

They're still shits

I'm finding it harder and harder to be all that arsed.

That said, win the game in hand and we're 14th.

It's all about being bothered either way.

Can`t blame Spurs. Win your home games and your safe.

To top it all up, Leigh got beat 3-1 at Leyland against Clitheroe. What a fucking rotten cold shite night alround.

For once we can't rely on other results.

We need to put our own house in order.

WIgan is a must win, then Blackburn (who have won there last 3 at home !!)

6 pointer if ever there was one!

If we are going to avoid relegation we need to start scoring goals. Our current top scorer is out for the season with a blood clot so where are the goals going to come from. Coyle should have seen that we didn't have a goal scorer when he took over and his first priority should have been recruiting one instead of packing the midfield. If you watched MOTD last night you would have seen the difference between Kevin Davies and Louis Saha. A long ball punted up to Davies results in a, Davies wins the ball but immediately gives it back to the opposition, b, a foul is given against Davies, c,once in a while Davies wins a free kick. The same ball to Saha results in Saha winning the ball and getting into a goal scoring opportunity.

I love SKD as much as the next person but I honestly think his time is up in terms of us moving forward. When fit it has to be Elmander who can do the donkey work but potentially finish if the chance arises and Klasnic to be the lazy one who finishes the chance offered.

to be fair, it wasn't his fault he lost our two top scorers for extended periods

i saw the reserve team we put out last night

no sign of any 'fringe' players 'cept basham

i would've thought he'd have been telling RVT to prove a point

cos as frustrating as he is, he's our best option of adding a goal threat

lets go random, put steinnson up front

Well there is a precedent. Fred Pickering started off as a full back at Blackburn Rovers before becoming a centre forward and capped in that position by England. And he is still Everton's leading goal scorer in European competition. Wing half from the 50s and 60s Derek Hennin didn't do too badly when he stood in for Nat Lofthouse. He scored a hat trick playing centre forward.

There's also a precedent the opposite way. Henrik Pederson wasn't the worst LB we've had at the club!

Serious question - would you rather have Pederson in his left back pomp or Robinson as he's playing at the moment?

Pederson may not have been as cultured a left back as some but, as far as I recall and apart from struggling to play the wing-back role where he was expected to attack and defend all game, he didn't do too badly. I don't remember him for his bad decision making the way I'm currently thinking about Robinson.

And Tony Hibbert leads our European Appearances table !!!
