to me this has been the worst season ever in my 33 years watching Bolton.How many high points have there been?

 

The only one that sticks in my mind was Spurs at home in the prem were we played really well

 

Cant remember being as pissed off so many times after we've played,all the unrest

 

between the fans,our away support(i am guilty on that one as well).

 

Yes i know we had the really dark days in the mid eightes but we all stood together as one

 

but now it just seem so different.Why have so many stopped going to home games?

 

My mood may change come 5pm Saturday.

I's been a really bad season, but I think most peoples disappointment at the current situation is that it's not got any better than when the other bloke was in. When OC was brought in we thought things would change right away, or at least performances would improve. They haven't, and the only change is that - up to now -there has been no booing of any volume. I've never been as disenchanted for years, but perhaps I expect too much.

However, my fixture list is still on the office wall, and when I fill it in I still look at the next game and think "beat them on Saturday and it'll be reet".

As part of the 'blanket brigade', by which i take to mean some one who sits in their seat with my family, watches the game has a brew at half time from their thermos flask, what makes me less committed than someone whose matchday experience is getting piseed up with his mates and having a laugh.

Sorry freudian slip I meant the 'bedsheet brigade' (ie Megson out /Coyle out /a.n.other out.) who think we are Real Madrid

He wasn't suddenly going to come in and have us playing lovely football and have us climbing the league table. He is hopefully a long term appointment who the fans will support and get behind. We were 3rd bottom when he took over, we are still 3rd bottom and we will continue to be in and around the relegation zone till the end of the season, hopefully just scraping enough points to avoid the drop. That's the reality for me, that's how it would have been under Megson, that's how its going to be under Coyle, the big difference being the fans would supposedley support Coyle and the team without the animosity and negativity that surrounded Megson. The sooner people accept this the sooner these neagtive attitudes can be shelved, god forbid we go down, till the end of the season. Until then fcuking get behind them and play your part in helping us get the points we need to stay up.

The thing is, something has changed for the better, we have kept 4 or 5 clean sheets since Coyle has come in, and without the clubs best player, Megson didnt manage a single one.

 

I for one didnt expect miracles to happen over night, and avoiding the drop will be a seen as a success this season, under Megson im pretty sure we would have been relegated.

Now you don't know that. But if we do stay up I hope nobody uses it as an excuse to have a go at Megson. Megson is no longer the manager, get over it and move on.

Something is changing that is for sure, we have young,quick footballers all over the pitch, better options on the bench and a manager who belives in attacking football and has the courage to attack teams and try to play football the right way, I hope he is succesful in keeping us up as I think we could have a positive few years of good football under Coyle if we stay up and give him reasonable resources to keep bringing in quality flair players, the lift in the mood in and around the stadium amongst players and fans is tangible.

Im not having a go at Megson, just stating an opion on what may or may not have happened had he stayed. Having a go would have included such words as ginger prick, etc. I not anti-Megson, we just needed a change.

 

Oh and i have moved on, just as i think the club have under Coyle. I see plenty of positives at the back, with a few notable exceptions, Blackburn for example, Knight has improved a lot and we now play with real width, its just a pity that the strikers arent firing on all cylinders.

Don't fall into the trap next time we lose a game. This is the beauty of watching bwfc!

 

 

Remember teams such as Rochdale who have never been out of the bottom division, teams that

have gone into administration, teams that have gone out of business.

 

This is all about supporting your team through thick and thin and by the look of it we

are finding out that we don't have as many loyal fans as we thought.

 

The people that jumped on the premiership band wagon are now jumping off.

 

Come on, get behind your team, lets avoid relegation and start afresh next season.

Once again Mounts you have said it all for me. In very difficult circumstances OC has made a positive difference. It's going to be very close. Let's all get behind the club.

We beat a poor Wolves team 1-0 and rode our luck.

 

People should not be getting carried away, I actually agree that you can see a more positive future for the club under Coyle than under Megson in the long run. I do think under Megson we would have got at least 4 points from last 3 games.

 

I never booed Megson or stop going to games, I do wonder when all the people who were staying away untill Megson left are going to come flooding back. In the meantime we can rely on the away fans and cheap tickets to half fill the ground.

It depends on how you look at it, firstly Coyle could not change the team on day 1 he has had to give the old guard there chance otherwise he could have lost the dressing room, as we all know our run of fixtures since Coyle took over have been difficult, we had a good few positive performances notably Arsenal away, our home form since Coyle took over should have 4 wins and and a draw if the referee would have done a proper job against fulham, I do however agree with the only come to see united, football in pubs on matchday is killing BWFC,I am as guilty as I will be watching the WH game in my front room.
