Can Bolton Cause An Upset?

Featured Replies

Jussi would do a job in any of the top teams. It's blinkered comparing keepers at different ends of the spectrum of team and defensive qualities. Poor bait!

He would walk into our team though!!

Jussi has made mistakes in his career, I can think of quite a few this season, but he's been an exceptional goalkeeper for us, no doubt he has won us in the past something like 15+ points a season.

You have to also take into consideration our poor defence, if your opponent has most of the possession and chances, it's no wonder why we have a shocking goal difference, constant pressure sometimes and our defence not really having a consistent back 4 to get an understanding means Jussi is left with a lot to do, it's going to lead to goals and make Jussi make mistakes.

Put him in a top side, he won't need to worry as much and he will have confidence in his own team, his concentration would be better, he would need to learn to just pass it to a full back or do a long throw, as the top sides play usually play from the back, instead of a long punt[his kicking isn't his strong point]

Sometimes he goes down to easy, sometimes he lets silly goals go in[e.g Rosicksy and Fabregas @ the Emirates]sometimes he doesn't command his box from crosses/corners, sometimes he doesn't communicate[Ricketts O.G @ the Reebok against Blackburn], it's easy to remember the bad displays than his numerous good ones, without Jussi there would be have been no Europe, no top 6/8 finishes.

People say Al Habsi kept us in the league 2 seasons ago, when Jussi got injured, when Jussi has a poor game, they hold this against him, and say Al Habsi is better and should be our no.1, they never stop to think what Jussi has done for this club, and maybe what a poor defence he has to put up with.

You try and get confidence from a defence that have Paul Robinson and for most of the season a poor Zat Knight, try and get confidence when we score o.g's and we never come back from a goal down, try and get confidence in your self when the other team have most of the ball and are getting through your team at will, try and get confidence when a corner is cleared and you know it will lead to another attack on your goal, try and get confidence in your team when a 2-0 advantage doesn't usually provide 3 points.

Jussi is a brilliant goalkeeper, a proper legend. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has a bad day, Jussi has given is all for this club, passion is there, the quality is there, he's BWFC.

Na,but dont think we will get tanked, off to the shop soon for a load of keg,off tomorrowyahoo.gif .Cmon Bolton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats quite funny. Jussi is a good keeper, but Cech is league's ahead of him !

Bullshit

james

nurse, nurse, come quickly, ive shit meself

Even though he is not the player he was, he is still better than almost every keeper in the Prem.

Currently the following are better than Cech:

Friedel, Schwarzer, Reina, Van de sar, Given, Howard and Sorensen

Yes, it does.

Jussi is good, but no better than the mid level Prem Keeper. Not European clas or even TOP international class.

Top Draw Keepers - A - Cech / Given / Van Der Sar / Reina

-B- Gomez / Sorenson / Robinson / Hart / James

-C- Jussi / Almunia / Green

This list is null and void as you have missed out Friedel and Schwarzer who are way better than Cech. Cech belongs on your C list since the head injury!

sorensen?

really?

For once i think the usually keen fisherman Pablo is spot on.

Jussi is an average Premiership keeper, playing in a below average Premiership side.

There are a lot of good keepers in the prem but I wouldn't swap Jussi for any of em. The way he goes mental at the ref / lino / defence when we concede is world class!

People moan about his kicking but to be fair to him he gets a hell of a lot of back passes and rarely fcuks them up.

his kicking has improved 10 fold over the last few years.

in fact, theres not a lot a long wrong with it these days.

Friedel, Schwarzer, Reina, Van de sar, Given, Howard and Sorensen

If you think Howard is anywere near as good as the others in your list then your a fool.

Howard is crap !

The quality of Keepers in the Prem has dropped !

Not as much as the quality of the match officials, Pablo.

Agreed!

sorensen?

really?

My thoughts exactly. Sorensen is toss and is one of the bottom 5 keepers in the league.

I'd have Jussi in the 2nd bracket of keepers in the league, only 2 IMO are better, Given and Reina.

After that there are quite a few that IMO are all equally as good as each other, Jussi, Van der Sar, Friedel, Schwarzer, Hart and probably Cech (although I think he's gash ever since his injury).

After that they are all similar, apart from Jensen and Sorensen who I think are utter shite.
