Can Bolton Cause An Upset?

Featured Replies

Looking back over our last 10 years in the prem, as the title race closes in BWFC have had their part to play in influencing where the title goes. Playing Chelsea in the run in has happened on numerous occassions, when they famously won the title for the first time and then a few years later halting their title ambitions

twice with a 2-2 draw and then a 1-1 draw (all be it on this occasion the urinals victory meant it was out of reach for them)

And how can we forget the most famous "preventing the title" result, the 2 -2, Wenger ripping off his tie, game in 2002/3. For me this is one of my most memorable Reebok experiences. I remember going into the

Mill House after the game and the atmosphere was great, everybody hushed up when Big Sam came on for his post match interview.

So the question is can we influence where the title goes as the title run-in begins?

They'll all take maximum points off us so no.

Yes we can, will we 'NO'

No!

Would love it if we could tho.

is wrong to want a northern team win the league over 2 sets of cockneys?

I think Liverpool are out of it now though .....

Oh, back to the thread -

We've done practically s*d all against the top 4 in recent seasons so, no, very unlikely.

Ive learned to expect the unexpected with our town team. If your a gambler what would you go for ? This kiss of death is saying nothing

Yes! Said that we'd come close at their place and we did and think that we'll get 1 if not all 3! Positive thinking people, they are crap away from home at the moment! Easily do able!

Thought I would resurrect this one in the hope that we can achieve the unthinkable and halt Chelsea's charge towards the title.

As Coyle has been saying this morning I don't give a shiny shite where the title ends up, if we help prevent Chelsea winning the title by getting something tonight then that will be great.

COYFWM

It's no from me, Chelsea are stronger in every position.

I'd love to be proved wrong though :yahoo:

Apart from Goalie perhaps. I do not rate Cech since he had the head injury, he is not commanding on crosses!

1 - 0 to us, Wilshire to score to try and help Arsenal to the title

Thats quite funny. Jussi is a good keeper, but Cech is league's ahead of him !

On too much recent history ..... no.

Do you really think that ?

I think Cech is very poor especially on crosses, he is the weakness part of their team. Hopefully we will rough him up early and when we have our next attack in the second half he will make a mistake.

he's not half the player he was

id swap any of our team for their chelsea counterpart, except jussi

we're gonna get battered

it will be really tight, but then the floodgates will open as we start to chase a goal.

a very miserable 4-0 drubbing.

Even though he is not the player he was, he is still better than almost every keeper in the Prem.

so that would mean he is nt leagues ahead of Jusssi then.....

Yes, it does.

Jussi is good, but no better than the mid level Prem Keeper. Not European clas or even TOP international class.

Top Draw Keepers - A - Cech / Given / Van Der Sar / Reina

-B- Gomez / Sorenson / Robinson / Hart / James

-C- Jussi / Almunia / Green

What exactly is "European class"?

Whilst I'd agree that there are some elite keepers above Jussi, to put him on a shelf below the likes of Gomez, Sorenson, Robinson and Hart is either fishing or you're on crack

We'll do 'em 2-1.

I've started early.
