Election Debate

Clegg Certainly play the "honesty is the best policy" card tonight.

I guess the big question is do voters believe him.

Could there be a major change on the horizon?

Brown is Peter Risdale

My recommendation to people is to have a look at the debt and the projected debt

Are these 3 really the best we can fucking manage?

Surely we've reached the point where we can just clone Dear Maggie and keep her at the helm? By now, she'd have had the Iranians apologising and throwing their missiles in the sea, the unions back in Breightmet Labour Club with sore arses, everyone who could be arsed doing a days work with some cash on the hip, Obama buffing her shoes and would more than ikely have put that volcano out with a single speech.

We're in a right fucking mess whichever way you look at it.

To respond piecemeal to a few of the points raised about me -

Your age guess is pretty much bob on, however the assumption you make that I am therefore less aware of the realities of the world than you greybeards does not necessarily follow. My father was made redundant in the early 90s recession, I was made redundant in the current recession (although am now happily re-employed elsewhere).

I happily accept my style of posting is not everyone (anyone's?) cup of tea; I don't do it as a form of compaigning, but rather for my own amusement, and I'm under no illusions that what I post is going to convert people to vote Tory - I'll leave that to people far more skilled than I.

Equally I'm aware that statistics leave lots of people cold - I'm afraid this is a horses for courses thing - I find people talking about their own experiences as if they disprove clear trends to be mawkish and manipulative, and we'll just have to agree to disagree I suppose.

I have several very intelligent friends who are of the left-wing persuasion - I don't claim to understand how they reached their conclusions, but I'm aware it is possible - however to repeat, I post here for my own amusement, largely through the odd argument, so c'est la vie.

I post here for my own amusement,

Who doesn't?

Confused

Alex Salmond wants to be included in the Prime Ministerial debate; can he become PM?

If the SNP won every seat in jockland would that be enough?

If not he can get to fuck.

Given he's not a candidate, and isn't in line to be made a Lord, I think he'll struggle.

His real complaint is that now this election has been reduced to 3 90 minute TV slots, debates which give unfair publicity to the other 3 parties above his lot north of the border break the balanced coverage laws, and thus he's seeking an injunction banning broadcast north of the wall. He sort of has a point, but it's bloody bonkers nontheless.

watching it now

Brown is just a deluded lunatic

That would be nice to have Maggie back :good: :good:
