April 19, 201016 yr the line was so high it was untrue, you cant play your line that high when you have full backs who look to push on. being beaten by an over the top 30 yard ball through the middle, is extremely poor.

(and what jls had to do with it i dont know , but i will have a word wi me daughter as she is going seeing them in december , if your in love put your hands up .
April 19, 201016 yr First time on MOTD it looked like Robinson was playing Linebacker. Someone should have a word with him. That said, Arsenal's 1-1-1-2-3-2 formation was even worse.
April 19, 201016 yr i thought knight let him go, rather than cahill Nah, Cahill left him and Kitson's momentum took him past Knight easily.
April 19, 201016 yr I'm not sure Jussi could have done more also, I think it was a bad goal as a team rather than one individual. Why was Tuncay in so much space?
April 19, 201016 yr jussi just did well not to get sent off his second save in a similar place was brilliant
April 19, 201016 yr The centre halves played the striker offside by stepping up at the right time, what they did not anticipate was that Robinson would be 3 yards further back playing him on!! The full backs should never be behing the central defenders when they holding such a high a line as that.
April 19, 201016 yr Here is the moment the ball left Tuncay's foot, can't blame Robinson [Kitson is offside against Robinson when the ball is kicked] Kitson got in-between Cahill and Knight, Cahill was trying to play offside, but his positioning and timing was wrong. I don't mind defending high[pushing up] I prefer this to defending deep and letting players come at you nearer the goal. but has the Stoke goal proves you can be suspectible to the ball over the top and you have to have concentration not only of your own position but also that of your other defenders. The midfield is also to bame there is no pressure or even a midfielder anywhere near putting in a challenge.

The full backs should never be behing the central defenders when they holding such a high a line as that. Premier League are recruiting linesmen. Why not write and let them know your qualifications for seeing stuff that doesn't actually happen are second to none.
April 20, 201016 yr I'm not sure Jussi could have done more also, I think it was a bad goal as a team rather than one individual. Why was Tuncay in so much space? And why was Faye in so much space 6 yards out in the last minute ? All the defenders ball-watch far too much. Some serious individual and team defending classes needed this summer.
April 20, 201016 yr It's a cracking photo, well done Diddles. My critisism of Robinson is that he's quite central and we can't see who's bombing down the right wing - then again neither can he. I think he's spotted the danger but there isn't couldn't do anything about it due to lack of pace. Cahill has been rushed back IMO, Muamba has been bypassed and Chingchongchinaman doesn't understand about defending. Him and knight aren't (yet?) an effective partnership.

What the picture does nt show was that cahill was even deeper in the build up, what it does highlight is that whatever individuals did for the goal and i do still blame cahill, there was nt enough communication.

April 20, 201016 yr you'll be back to retract your criticism of robinson, i assume Sure will, unfortunately stuck in Beijing so only got benefit of scratchy internet feeds (when they work) and at full speed looks like Robinson is the culprit, but true enough when I paused it he isn't!! However I would still argue that given the linesmen appears to be on his side of the pitch it was Robinson he also thought was playing Kitson on, especially as he was also running towards goal, pretty certain offside would have been given if it was just determined on Kitson and Cahill as at real speed he looks well off.. Sorry Paul!
