Evertons Demise

who would you take?

i think the big hitters (afroman, jags, rodwell) are out of our reach, but the rest should be fairly cheap.

id take

coleman, to wash the kits, the little scrubber.

saha, to mow the pitch, fancy patterns like his yellow hair.

arteta, as translator for the any new foreigners we buy.

:D

  • Here's an idea:   Instead of all this talk about ground sharing, which will no doubt rise again, given that you're both struggling with financeand planning, and with both teams struggling, why don't

  • Dont bother, they are all shit, and none would get in your team !

Was he really? Blimey, I thought the court case was in his 1st season

Fair do's

He was doing well, till they binned him, and think he successfully sued them, as the Court case was either dropped or he won, false allegations.

I like the way he plays football, and give's young players a chance, he is even good at resurrecting careers (bothroyd). Lambert is the other one I would like to see given a chance, but Jones being a Blue may help swing it, we need a bit of passion back.

Not really arsed if Moyes goes, as he is not Everton, and I don?t think he could get a bigger job than Everton, not at the moment anyway.

Big summer coming up, loads of players leaving, so its either Moye's time to step up, and re-build, or a fresh approach from the Club, and get shut early.

terrible, terrible manager

oh id love Everton to get him

Jones didn't successfully sue Southampton - they won

I'd be more worried than excited if I was you.

I was excited after Allardyce left us

Look what happened (very nearly)

Im not that arsed* who we get really, but I can see why Kenwright would appoint a manager like Jones, cheap and safe(ish), he will push the Everton Fan aspect of the appointment, and use his Youth Development, as a key factor in the appointment.

*The only managerial appointment that terrifies me, and would make me buy a season ticket....BUT sit in the pubs on County road every home game would be Alladyce !!!

They finished mid-table in his first season before finishing 17th in his second, and they were bang in the shite again when he was put on gardening leave, with Matt Le Tiss on his way out and Mark Hughes and Stuart Ripley making shitehawks like Jo Tessem and Matty Oakley look half decent.

"Doing well" might be overstating the case a bit.

I think being in the Prem compared to now, might be understating it.

I don't think Dave Jones could have done too much about what's happened there since.

I think your right, but what you said above, explains that it went bad, when he was on his way out of the club.

funny that everton and bolton are both on 40 points.

we are apparently having a great season.

they are apparently having a shit season.

i said in the thread, after we beat them, and a lot were slating pablo telling him to be concerned about relegation, that i still thought theyd finish above us. I'll stand by that too. Even more so now our priority is surely the fa cup

Some people are quite dim though, and cant see past the game they are watching, and on the way we played in that game, we played like relegation fodder !

but what you said above, explains that it went bad, when he was on his way out of the club.

I'm not having that. After he went they stayed up under Hoddle and then had four comfortable seasons in the top fliht, as well as reaching their first Cup Final since 1976. Their biggest problem was the nuggets behind the scenes - after Strachan left, Saints fans had to sit and suffer while the board appointed Sturrock, Wigley, Redknapp, Bassett and Burley. Then there was the Clive Woodward debacle and administration. It definitely went to shit but it's bollocks to say Jones' departure was where it all began.

I agree with that, but the year he went on Gardening leave, and the season it started, they dropped FROM MIDDLE TABLE. Where Jones put them.

Point being, if the trouble had not have started......!

His first proper pro contract, so he was not even properly contracted to us earier, hence him not playing. I think now he will play more.

Saw him chip the ball into the ball bag, held open by a coach from over 20 yards away last week, while he was warming up at half time.

England call before he turns 20.....and a move to United before that....to join up with Rodwell!!!
