Does anybody know if its a legal requirement that this day is a bank holiday? I work at a hospital so obviously we can't all have the day off but we should be given a extra days holiday added on to our total. The fuckers have said we can have the day off unpaid if we wish but its just a normal working day and we won't be getting a extra days holiday! Tried googling it but coming back with nothing???

Mate of mine was at Salford Council, similar thing, it was probably easier for him to tell them when he was working rather than when he wasn't.

 

Funny how the Unions never seem to mention things like this when cuts are knocking about.

 

But then again, thats because they're a shower of shit.

You forgot the fact that you probably get full pay if you're off on Deal or No Deal sick leave for 6 months.

 

Frankly, you all deserve the fucking piss poor peasant wages you get if that's your attitude.

The lady who lives next door to me works for the NHS, not sure what she does but it's something to do with palliative care, so it's all very noble. However, even by her own admission, the amount of holidays she get's is an outrage, she get's the "maximum entitlement" as she has been there for many years, and it works out at around 42 days I think she said - which is just over 8 working weeks! - she really struggles to use them all up

I get 27 days leave plus up to 24 days flexi (max 2 a month if I've worked the hours) plus an epic allowance of sick leave should I need it / want to play the system.

 

I know I would earn more in the private sector but with being a carer for the missus I'm better where I am.
