I have been on a strict budget for the last few weeks after moving house and have been buying cheap deal lager... like Tesco's 36 cans of Carlsberg for ?20 and so on. It did the job I suppose but I got some cash yesterday and went to Asda earlier on and found they were selling a 10 pack of Stella for ?7. It is like rediscovering my taste for the amber nectar. Sheer bliss after the swill that they call Carlsberg.

 

I thought 70p for a 440ml can of Stella wasn't bad

 

I shall go back to tomorrow and buy another 5 cases!!

I hate Stella, its bloody horrible shite - much rather have K1664. That said, I am a right lightweight compared to most so I usually stick to crap like Carling when I am fortunate enough to get out for a couple of sherbs. Normally stick to Strongbow if having a few tinnies at home.

avid drinker of carling myself..but it got to the stage where i was nailing 8-9 cans on a school night and not feeling any diffrent!

now along with trying to cut down...i catch the cheeky offers for cider you find in your londis/nisa type gaffs...got 4 pint cans of strongbow for ?3.80 tonight...not bad.

 

also tried stella cider for the first time last night!...sounds like a reciie for disaster mixing wife beater with wife beater...but it was a cracking little tipple!

Ryan... I like Strongbow to a certain extent but get sick of cider pretty quickly. I have a 3ltr bottle of Asdas own brand dry cider in the fridge which I will probably drink over the weekend. As for John Smiths... I couldn't bring myself to put a can of that pisswater near my lips. i would rather remain sober.... and that's saying something!!

Stella tins left in the fridge for three days is the best drink ever. I can't drink in the house coz it's boring but icy Stella is gorgeous

going off at a tangent... I will make an admission or a boast, depending on what way you look at it but I have never once in my 46 years taken drugs of any sort. Not weed, Ecstasy, crack, LSD, magic Mushrooms heroin, cocaine, or anything stronger than aspirin. i have only smoked about 3 cigarettes (at least pretended to, to look hard in front of my mates when I was about 13), I have led a sheltered life

 

 

But not when it comes to drink or women, unfortunately

I was watching a documentary the other night, 144,000 people per year die through smoking, 80,000 through drink and just 15, yes 15 not 15k through Ecstasy

 

If they were invented today they would be banned without doubt.

And I'd imagine drink and smoking deaths are more expensive. Still, they've paid their duty & taxes.

Alcohol is a horrible thing if you get dependant on it but so is coke - the stuff turns your head and makes you a nasty fucker if you get that far gone. I think all drugs, legalised or not, have that affect if you are addicted but I really don't think, like many do, that coke is fairly harmless because its not.

 

That said, if we go for long term health then it has to be alcohol but maybe thats because we all drink more/have done for longer?
