Chistopher Mark (Chris) Eagles

I was unfortunate enough to miss the game at Wiggin last week, seeing MOTD and reading the papers, i gather the said Mr Eagles had a blinder?

Now from what i have seen up to now in his(albeit short) stay with us, i have been a little (lot) unimpressed.

Today against a team struggling a little like ourselves a good pitch, in front of an expectant crowd , presents itself an opportunity for a "winger" to "come of age".

Show me(us) what you can do...........

I eagerly await.

Eagles is a very talented player; he was class last week   But at this level he is neither strong or consistent enough   He's like the championship player that has a great game every so often lik

I like this lad - he grafts, creates, scores and whilst he was bought (I guess) as a squad player he will do for me.

Yes, he did have a blinder last week. Having said that, he was playing against a right-footed left back who didn't know his arse from his elbow.

He's shite.

Bolton's MOM for me today.

Too eager to steal a headline but Bowton's most creative player by a country mile.

Not too sure what game you saw today Mixu but Eagles was utter dog shite.

Along with Robinson, Davies, Prattly, Reo Coker & Petrov

Eagles was signed for a small fee from a Championship club.

What exactly are you expecting him to show you?

That's he's a quality winger who should have cost ?15 million ?

Not sure what your point is.

We can't expect any better because he's from a Championship club for a small fee ? A lot of decent Prem players have come up that route.

Or OC's a muppet for wasting ?3m on a player who's not good enough for the level we're at ?

Anyway today Petrov, SKD, Pratley & Robinson (while he was in his right position) were all as poor.

He was wank. He wasn't the only one.

Not sure what your point is.

The point i'm making is that you get what you pay for in football. That's why the huge spending clubs are always at the top of the league.

Sunderland are another club that have spent much more money than Bolton in recent seasons. Not enough to get anywhere near the Champions League clubs but much more than Bolton.Consequently they have better players and a better team.

Far too greedy today.

The problem with Coyles transfer activity is he hasn't adjusted his tactics to meet the budget. It's all well and good saying you are going to buy footballers with skill and style but if you don't have millions at your disposal you end up with substandard ones who try to play like that but just get found wanting.

A stylish flair prem midfielder is going to cost as much as ?10m+ to stand a chance of seriously holding his own.

A midfield terrier / grafter may cost around ?3-5m

Coyle is that blinded by "sexy" football that I doubt he ever looked to shop in the later market thus ending up with substandard footballers who can play a bit

As fans I fear we have to realise a club like ours is not seriously going to be top half without playing percentage football which gives us a chance of knocking out results at the sake of entertainment

As far as todays performance no where near good enough for the prem.

Winning football = entertaining football

Or at least happy and content fans

Everyone was shite today. People pick on eagles because he came from the championship.....so he must be shit. Agree with Isaac, no worse than anyone else.

Unlike Reo-coker, who was utter dogwank. Yet he comes with a reputation of being a leader, so he doesn't get stick.

Pratley and eagles are easy targets. People need to stop being sheep, and generate an opinion for themselves, instead of picking on the easy Target.

Problem is, they are simply not good enough. Pratley and Eagles are no easy targets, they just are simply not good enough.

I thought Eagles was out his depth against better opposition but finds his level against wigan. Sunderland were obviously in the top class.

As much as we moan about Muamba, he must return .

Thing is, none of the lads being mentioned are going to turn around and not play because they don't think they are up to it,(well I'd bloody well hope not).

Which I suppose brings us back to the lad who picks the team.

The buck stops with Owen.

Jurys out on pratley, coyle did him no favours today playing him centre mid. its his first crack at the prem so i hope we find a position that suits him.eagles failed the last time with burnley , hope im wrong but don t think hes good enough.

Pratley is a central midfielder.

Just an average one

Just an average one

In a below average side.

Thought Pratley did well to get in some good goal scoring positions today, was just missing the composure to ifnish. The game can pass him by, but I think he will improve. Eagles was simply dreadful today and seems to believe he is much better than he actually is.

Not sure I have seen Petrov play as poor as he was today.

Ngog looked frustrated at the lack of service, and is changing my opinion of him, he looks to be Coyles best buy to date, the rest are falling short of what's required, and that can only rest with OC. It is his team now.

What does worry me is his apparent inability to turn things around, he was fine while Burnley were performing, but left them without halting their slide. Now we are on the worst run in living memory and he is stubborn, refusing to change formation etc. and showing no signs of turning things around. He's not got long left to show he has the ability to improve things.

How anyone can watch that game today, and then start a thread about eagles and only eagles is beyond me.

Why does Nigel Reo coker get a free ride?

It seems people had already decided eagles is shit and nothing he does, including being our best player last week, will change their mind.

Reo-Coker is shite

The truth is that Petrov and Eagles are the players who have created and contributed most this season.

it was started before the game with the poster saying he hoped he was wrong about egales having heard he did well last week
