I've been with the kids a couple of times and we flew into Rovaniemi (sp) in Finland both times just inside the artic circle. Just a couple of tips, it was -19 degrees when we were there so be careful as at that temperasture the moisture is drawn out of your skin so take plenty of lipsil/vaseline, although i don't think it's that cold this year. Also, reindeer meat is often served in the restaurants so the grand kids may get upset (as my kids did) when find they find out that Rudolph and Blitzen casserole is on the menu. As for the place itself it's all a magical experience but our highlight was the trip through the woods on the snow ski mobile thingy. Wrap up well and I hope they have a great time!

Think Lidl were selling it last year.

I had reindeer stew there and it went straight through me

3 hour coach back to Oulu wasn't fun

Went for 3 nights a couple of years ago with Emagine.

Absolutely fantastic trip - would recommend it to anyone with kids.

 

Stayed in a log cabin with its own dry sauna.

 

Went ice fishing, reindeer trip, husky rides, skidoo, sleding, snow hockey etc etc

 

Food was superb.

 

Lot of money, but trip of a lifetime.

yep did the day trip a few years back a fair chunk of Wonga but worth ever single penny....

My father Christmas visit was to the old Co-Op in town where the new argos is now.

Very bad breath had santa i recall &not as jolly as i expected.Circa 1971

A paedophile? A bloke with halitosis? Luxury! I had to make do with next door's dog - festooned in used and torn sanitary towels. The only sack my 'Father Christmas' had was his ballsack, and he was too busy licking it himself for me to have a rummage...

do rotary club still go round with a santa imposter on a sleigh pulled by a ford granada,

I never went to see Father Christmas.

My mother decided it was the best as I would've only caused a terrible scene due to my Pogomophobia.

My God - you're scared of pogo-ing??
