Wanderers Songs

For my sins I often pop into see the opposition and, when I do, I often think we're off the pace - musically speaking!

Examples are:

Liverpool sing " Maxi -Maxi Rodriguez goes down the wing for me" to the tune of heartbeat and Spurs sing "na na na na na na na na na na Rafael Van Der Vart - Rafael Van Der Vart" to K C and the Sunshine Band's "Baby Give It Up"

These are in a different league to "come on you whites" "oh wanky wanky" etc. I remember the launch of "here we are - super whites" back in the 70s which was unbelievably naff...

Are we northern monkeys doomed to produce bland boring dittys - or are there a few musically minded folk out there who can dream up a few examples to make us proud to be Wanderers.?

Unfortunately I was sat opposite the stoke fans at the half way line and got an ear full of "delilah" all through the fucking game - not a good day that - but thanks for posting that - I listened to it the whole thing and felt the odd goosebump emerge more than once

Yeah mate I was sat with my left hand on the divider to the Stoke fans... Man alive that was a tough 90 mins. I did stay til the end, was applauded by the Stokies for doing so (sarcastic gets). That still remains the last game I went to though, flew out to Reno a week after it :(

Bit drastic- was it that bad!

The chorus would make a decent terrace sing-a-long:

You are absolutely right - well done that man! That's the tune - now what about them there lyrics....we could develop a whole portfolio based on that tune..."he was the lion - the lion of vienna"...in fact that could be our signature melody....

And I love that commentary at the end..."Lofthouse is through......" goosbump city!

Wana Wana Wana Wana Wana Wana Wandererssssss

Wanderers, Wander er eerrrrrrssssss....

To the tune of lord of the dance -

Zat Knight wherever you may be

You hoof the ball into row z

You hoof it here and you hoof it there

You hoof it fckin everywhere

Wana Wana Wana Wana Wana Wana Wandererssssss

Wanderers, Wander er eerrrrrrssssss....

Red white and blue,

red white and blue,

supporting us would be easy if you scored a goal or two,

red white and blue

red white and blue

Was good hearing a few of the older chants yesterday.

Bring back terracing :glare:

"Gi...anno...kopoulis,

He comes from... th'Acropolis"

It never caught on, much to my annoyance

same with

"Jussi it's best ,

When they score nothing at all"
