January 29, 201214 yr Going next weekend to watch Queen of the south in the Scottish Cup. Not had a right good drink for a while but this is the occasion!! train at 9.05 sat morning I think stella will be my friend
January 30, 201214 yr dont expect the sheep to bring too many fans, they've joined the diddy club gang in the SPL, met a few the other week and were giving it large when st johnstone only took 500 odd to pittodrie. the irony is, when they played in perth they only had 355. set of wanks an' all. mon the doonhamers

They seem to feel they owe Queens one for the beating in the 2008 Scottish Cup semi so should be good
January 31, 201214 yr You're a bit late getting up then Jazza. I've been up that way & the pubs outside the station are open from about 7.00am for the offshore lads. You changing at Queen St? It's a nice journey up from Dundee onwards tracking the coastline.
January 31, 201214 yr Author Going via Edinburgh... meeting mates at Haymarket No idea how i'm getting back, just checked and last train I can get back with is 17.07 probably crash in Edinburgh and come back Sunday
January 31, 201214 yr Get to the Illicit Still for breakfast. Lovely pub and you can have beer with your full English Scottish.
January 31, 201214 yr Author Get to the Illicit Still for breakfast. Lovely pub and you can have beer with your full English Scottish. Is that the one in Aberdeen or Tollcross Edinburgh BCG? I think the're both supposed to be good!
January 31, 201214 yr The one in Aberdeen is on the way up Union St to the ground from the station. Pitoddrie Bar on King St always looks lively of course.
January 31, 201214 yr Author I can see this being a day when the football is seconday, I am going with 3 right good mates I've not seen in ages

Im sure the footy will keep you entertained though. Have a goodun
February 1, 201214 yr Is that the one in Aberdeen or Tollcross Edinburgh BCG? I think the're both supposed to be good! I've only been to the Aberdeen one. Would also recommend a bar if I could remember the name of it. It sells 500+ types of Whisky. Actually, probably best avoided.

February 1, 201214 yr Yeah I would probably describe some of the housing schemes in the suburbs dark & dreary but the centre is very nice. Beach Esplanade area near the ground is also very impressive, with the port & the lighthouse etc. There's a few bob knocking around those parts with the offshore economy.

February 1, 201214 yr That's the fella, just googled it. The staff are very knowledgable. I'm not a whisky lover myself but they found a few for me that I enjoyed.
February 1, 201214 yr Aye, similar to myself. Not normally keen on whisky, but they've some real smooth stuff that's not like the pish we get down here. Although I also now quite like Makers Mark.
February 1, 201214 yr I'm up in Aberdeen on a regular bases, but tend to stay out of town these days. Grill bar on Union St is OK, but try the Soul Bar a little further up. This in an old church converted into bar and restaurant etc.....can get very busy with very loud music if you like that kind of thing
February 2, 201214 yr Author bloody hell. I'm only there for a day... if I go in every pub recommended I'll be pissed before the match... hang on though... that might be a plan!! I've been to Pittodrie a couple of times before, but always been driving before.
February 2, 201214 yr I'm up there next month, stayed at the Malmasion, lovely place. Anywhere decent to eat near the theatre?
February 2, 201214 yr Was working on a Chiquitos about 13 years ago in Aberdeen. I went to Pittodrie when they played Dundee on my day off, i made a mistake of wearing the blue away Bolton shirt at the time and got some abuse off the sheep with some thinking it was a Gers shirt from behind.
February 2, 201214 yr Author I'm up there next month, stayed at the Malmasion, lovely place. Anywhere decent to eat near the theatre? I've just an inkling that our experiences of Aberdeen may slightly differ Crawley My question is more like to be, any decent chippys that serve deep fried mars bars near the bookies opposite the drunken sassenach pub? Edited February 2, 201214 yr by jazza
February 2, 201214 yr There is a small bakery on Chapel St (off Union St at the top end towards Holburn Junction) which is open all night. Taxi Rank outside, and all the dancers from private eyes (lap dancing club) are often in there having a bite to eat before they head off home. Had a few good laughs in there in the early hours of the morning. The worlds your Oyster in Aberdeen mate, and plenty to go at......
February 2, 201214 yr I've just an inkling that our experiences of Aberdeen may slightly differ Crawley My question is more like to be, any decent chippys that serve deep fried mars bars near the bookies opposite the drunken sassenach pub? Ha ha, to be fair, it might lack the masculinity but press night parties are usually messy affairs. And by Christ, last time I was up there we had the most glamourously beautiful ladies turning up. God love the oil industry. Then we went Glasgow, bit different!
February 3, 201214 yr Author I'm warming up now... no drink tonight... plenty of food, made a huge spaghetti bolognese that would have fed 4 and only have a bit left for breakfast before i go (you think I'm joking but I'm not spag bol at 7.15 is ace) Just going to get the hair clippers out in case I sleep in (no chance) and iron my chinos and cheese cloth shirt ready for go i still wish i was going to naaarwhich though
