February 10, 201214 yr Golden Harvest. If the campest Oriental man in the UK can't see you right, I'd be more than surprised.

February 10, 201214 yr muchappreciated camper than go wank? Camp, but he's not annoying. I think Spider fancies him.
February 10, 201214 yr Tonge Moor Chinese closed down after Christmas too. Ok but not in the same league as happy house 1 block away. Saturation point reached it seems. Had to get there eventually I suppose.
February 11, 201214 yr It seems Sio the quest for a new chinky starts. Wokstar in deepest Deane was OK+ Used to go there years ago The fella who owned it chased me halfway round ladybridge with a machete after i wazzed snowballs at his window years ago
February 11, 201214 yr Camp, but he's not annoying. I think Spider fancies him. As he's the man responsible for taking my salt n pepper chips virginity, there's a certain something between us. If it did come down to pokey wets, the girl who works there sometimes would be the initial target.

February 12, 201214 yr Sailing against the tide here, but... Chinese food in England is generally shite.
February 12, 201214 yr China Palace in Doffy is worth a whirl. Gave there up for Golden Wok; we'll give it a whirl, along with a trip to the one in Horwich
February 12, 201214 yr Sailing against the tide here, but... Chinese food in England is generally shite. Depends what you want from it; fried spicy unhealthy stuff? It's great I have 2 very good mates who do a lot of business in China and they love our type of Chinese food but hate eating over there
February 12, 201214 yr Sailing against the tide here, but... Chinese food in England is generally shite. Yep, dont do chinese restaurants, and rarely get a chinese takeaway, give me Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese any day of the week Better flavours, freshness etc imo
February 12, 201214 yr Depends what you want from it; fried spicy unhealthy stuff? It's great I have 2 very good mates who do a lot of business in China and they love our type of Chinese food but hate eating over there They're right. Hong Kong chinese food is far more civilised than much of the mainland. Though, I have to say, I've had some good meals in Shanghai, but that is one of China's more sophisticated cities. Oh & BT's right, Vietnamese is belting. That horrible new enormous Tesco has a big section now for foreign muck. It's the only reason I go in. Home made is lovely.
February 12, 201214 yr Hmmmmmm MSG, lovely. MSG isn't what folk think it is Or rather, it's not as bad for you as most people think. In fact nowhere near. Watched a programme on it a few months ago and under a controlled experiment all those who thought it gave them side effects were proven to be wrong
February 12, 201214 yr MSG for me gives me a bastard of a headache , some Chinese chippies I can't even have chips from there. I thought this was going to be an Elton John tribute to one closing Goodbye Golden Wok You didn't cook dog But the rumour was always that you did
February 12, 201214 yr Sailing against the tide here, but... Chinese food in England is generally shite. Having tried Chinese food in Philladelphia's Chinatown, I can concur that nothing I've tasted in UK which purports to be Chinese comes even close to the stuff over there. I imagine actually going to China would be even better. The thing is though, they cater for the Western pallate so what became my all-time favourite over there, deep fried squid tentacles, would probably not generate a whole lot of sales here.

You imagine wrong in the most part.
February 12, 201214 yr So they eat shit in China then? That'll save me a trip. They have a saying in Guangzhou, if it moves, eat it. Even I lose weight when I'm over there. CWP should be along at some point to tell you about sea cucumber
February 15, 201214 yr Golden Woks' lease ran out at the end of the year, and they decided not to renew. Not surprised - good food but never anyone in
