Water Bills.

For about five years i was paying between ?30 - ?35 a month, i got a water meter installed and the bill dropped to ?23 a month, got a bill last week and its shot up to ?29. I phoned them up and told them i now live on my own and my son moved out in November, so if anything the bill should be less. Sorry about that they said, we will drop your bill down to ?22 a month. What the fucks going on ?

Build a massive water tank, like Noah in reverse, fill it up, then tell 'em to get fucked - job done :D

W'eve just gone on a meter reducing our bills from ?72 a month (over 10 months) to approx ?30 a month. We have 13 months to change our mind if we want to revert back, or the can re assess our usage and reduce our bills accordingly..

Water butts are on the agenda for in the garden in the next few weeks,

Seems like a reasonable saving to me, and to much of a saving to ignore.

?26 a month here, no meter and we use loads.

Put it this way; if you go on a meter and it turns out to be more expensive you're fucked.

No, as you can go back to normal billing.

I sit corrected. I have always avoided having a meter because I was under the impression you were stuck with it.

That and the fact my son likes to stand in the shower for 20+ minutes at a time.

Mine's about ?54 every 6 months. Used to be about ?30 every 6 months when I used the gym every evening & swam before work every day.

So it only costs you ?4 a month to fill your own pool now?

How much to fill the moat? :D

Nothing, I've intercepted next door's mains.

Always thinking A, always thinking!

35 a month here. Stones throw from the reservoir

If I didn't do 80% of my work for South West Water I could get quite narked about the difference in water rates across the country after the EU clamped down on effluent quality just after Margeret had sold off the water authorirites.

It will be interesting to see who foots the bill if the South East needs water tankered in this summer.
