A posh do in Sandy? - I can't think where that would be to be honest

Anyway, if in Sandy, there is Gunns Bakery on the market square that make magnificent pies as well.

If you want to check out some decent ale, then get yourself down to the Engineers Arms (http://www.engineersarms.co.uk/) in Henlow, which is about 3 miles from Biggleswade, quite close to where I live actually.............a proper ale house

Hornby Butchers near Lancaster, and Junes Home Bake on St Helens Road

thanks for the info - the do is at south farm - shing cum wendy ?if that means anything to you ?

When our Norwegian friends were over we introduced them to Whittakers pies, they could not get enough of them. Same with the Pastie shop in Churchgate, they thought those were fantastic. If a shop as such could take the recipe and replicate it in norway they`d make a fortune.

South Farm in Shingay-Cum-Wendy is very nice, some friends of mine got married there the other year. It's got massive grounds, so a load of people took tents and camped over. They've also got a couple rooms and a few traditional "Romany" caravans that you can kip in. Pretty good fun actually.

It's not really Sandy though, more Royston really. If you're not staying over, it'll be a fair taxi ride back to either Sandy or Biggleswade if that's where you are staying, unless you try a couple of the local B&B's but I couldn't comment on what they are like, as I've never tried them with it being so close to where I live

Edit: forgot to add, you'll be wanting to take your wallett, as I seem to recall it's around ?4.00 for a pint - unless it's a proper wedding and the bar is free all night!

Pizza? posh cheese on toast.

Its the only place to come close to the legendary cases, their whist pie are bloody marvellous!

Not sure we need a Tesco in Aggy but anything is better than the boarded up eyesore it was.

Galloways pies are the bollocks

surely none of your efforts beat anything made in the pie capital of the world?

Galloways pies are the bollocks

Possibly, but what animals?

I agre Denn, they are better than Dawsons, but, having said that, Dawsons are very good and peppery

I've recently been introduced to Dawsons pies and they're crackin - proper peppery too like you said.

The rat-infested, dilapidated cafe that used to be at the market, before it was done up all posh like used to do a belting plate meat pie.

What the fuck is a butter pie?

edit: just looked it up, only filled with potato and onions - sounds shit.

A rare meat indeed. How did they source that?

Tis a Catholic thing I think.

We had a bakers in HTown called Case's owned (not pwned) by the Case family. They were big left footers and way back didn't sell meat on a Friday only Butter pies. They're basically a potato & onion pie, which sounds shit, but honestly, they're not.

Sounds like something you might get 4 of for ?1 in Iceland

Savoury pies without meat in, I've never heard of anything so ridiculous!

See, I didn't have you down as judgemental like that prior to trying something.

Putting Case's and Iceland in one breath will send you to hell!

There's people post on here go in the Pound bakery I bet. Now, I am going to be judgemental without trying anything from there.
