Meat pies from Villas, up Tonge Moor, used to be good, well worth running the gauntlet of unsolicited hate one used to get up there - being from Great Lever.

It's now Cafe Moor - bloody Muzzies, coming over here and taking our pies away :)

The Burnden Pie shop was rank - no wonder they could do four for a quid. I always suspected they sourced their stuffing from that ill-smelling dog chew factory - the one just over the railway tracks, which still stinks, despite being a soundsystem/speaker factory for about 10-12 years now.

The one in Farnworth 'arcade' used to do a nice cheese pie iirc.

Used to have pastie, peas and gravy with my gran in there on Saturday mornings before jumping on the no 8 bus to Burnden.

Happy Days.

I miss my gran.

Kirks on Blackburn rd, next door to VBQ pub. They have another shop next to the zebra crossing near Asda too.

is dutsons bakery still going on bury road?

Edit: Got them mixed up - I was thinking Allens.

Yeah, they have a cafe/greasy spoon a few doors down too, perfect if you get roped into to taking kids to that Wheely-Kidz party place over the road.

Piggotts Butchers, Biggleswade

They do some cracking home made pies -just had a peppered steak pie for lunch. Cracking!

Probably a bit far for most of you to travel though

Live 5 mins away from Dutsons on Bury Rd, their meat and Potatoe pasties are amazing, meat pies too.

It was a sad day when Case's shut.

I bet there's not many Catholic pie shops left in England now.

I miss proper pies :(

Carlos,,,,, try Whittakers pies, they are just down the road from Dawsons and are gorgeous.

I tried a couple of pies from a shop near where I was working, this was near the Morris Dancers pub, not bad at all.

Another good pie shop is Wilsons on Bolton Rd Kearsley, they are well nice.

Years ago Hampsons made a tremendous Shepherds pie but these have long since dissapeared..

Mo's Bakery (nr Morrisons Chorley Old Rd) cheesy cottage pie, in one of those silver chinesey trays and well worth ?2, free topping :) His meat pies are the dogs too :)
